Job summary

Sutherland is seeking an experienced Azure DR/BCP Architect to lead disaster recovery and business continuity initiatives across Azure environments, including planning, implementation, and governance. You will drive cross-functional collaboration with cloud, security, and应用 teams to ensure readiness and audit compliance.

The role requires 8+ years in DR/BCP and strong stakeholder management, with remote-friendly options in Hyderabad and across India.

Job description

Experience: 8+ years

Location: Hyderabad / Remote

Key Responsibilities

• Architect and lead Azure-based Disaster Recovery (DR) and Business Continuity Planning (BCP) solutions
• Design and maintain Azure DR architectures using Azure Site Recovery, Azure Backup, and multi-region strategies
• Define RTO/RPO targets , recovery strategies, and application dependency mapping for Azure workloads
• Develop and govern Azure DR/BCP policies, standards, and recovery plans
• Conduct risk assessments and Business Impact Analysis (BIA) for Azure and hybrid environments
• Plan, execute, and oversee Azure DR drills, failover/failback tests, and BCP exercises
• Ensure compliance and audit readiness aligned with security, regulatory, and organizational requirements
• Identify resiliency gaps and drive continuous improvement in Azure recovery capabilities
• Collaborate with cloud, application, security, and leadership teams for DR/BCP readiness
• Act as Azure DR/BCP Architect and Lead , owning governance, documentation, and stakeholder communication

• Lead DR tabletop exercises: Guide cross-functional teams (IT, apps, business) through scripted failure scenarios, discussing roles, timelines, and decisions without live systems.
• Conduct full-scale DR drills: Oversee failover to secondary sites or cloud (e.g., Azure, monitoring restore times, data integrity, and failback processes.
• Perform system backups/restores: Hands-on testing of critical Oracle EBS modules, databases, and cloud workloads to ensure recovery within

Required Skills & Experience

• 8+ years of experience in DR, BCP, or IT Resiliency architecture
• Strong knowledge of DR strategies, recovery planning, and risk management
• Experience with enterprise infrastructure, cloud, and application recovery models
• Hands-on experience planning and executing DR and BCP tests
• Strong understanding of compliance, audit, and governance frameworks
