Job responsibilities
- Experience of 4‑15 years in handling advanced facilities for the Pharmaceutical, FMCG, Microelectronics sectors and their associated R&D facilities.
- Preparation of schematic layout incorporating process equipment per PFD and process data input, space planning per equipment sizes, logical movement of personnel, materials, washing and waste, with minimal client input.
- Planning compliant with GMP requirements to satisfy final validation by inspecting agencies.
- Well‑versed with plasma fractionation, cell and gene therapy, biopharma facilities catering to vaccines, hormones, monoclonal antibodies and therapeutic enzymes; apply experience to design new facility types.
- Well‑versed with micro‑electronics facilities such as OSATs, FAB buildings and associated CUP, site utilities.
- Explain production facility concepts to clients, present options for production facilities, material handling concepts, utility options, site master planning, site development scenarios, and secure client buy‑in that satisfies program objectives.
- Author personnel gowning requirements as applicable for the project and incorporate safety over statutory norms.
- Challenge client requirements or defend a proposed design option on technical grounds to achieve the best solution.
- Lead sustainability efforts on a project and assign components to disciplines and stakeholders.
- Work as an individual contributor during feasibility, concept and basic phases using visualization and presentation software tools including BIM and hand sketches.
- Science background preferred in pre‑college curriculum; clear understanding of chemicals & solvents and their impact on statutory compliance and building architecture.
- Thorough knowledge of codes: NBC, CCOE, Factory Inspector, HAC, GMP & EU guidelines, IBC, IFC, solvent and hazardous gases compliance codes.
- Thorough understanding of cleanroom details and fabrication process coordination.
- Act as a design leader during preliminary project phases to onboard other engineering disciplines; transition to a key support role in detail design.
- Detail layouts, add architectural elements, define architectural vocabulary, specify construction materials, detail complex elements, provide inputs during site visits, resolve queries and provide solutions based on experience.
- Coordinate and align with all disciplines through all project stages to ensure project success.
- Serve as a brand ambassador for Jacobs at industry events, conferences and gatherings.
