Job description

About the Role

Innovaccer is looking for a motivated apprentice to join the Total Rewards team and get hands‑on exposure to compensation and benefits operations across a global organization. You will work closely with the Compensation & Rewards team on live programs such as appraisal cycles, promotions, retention cases, and compensation letter generation across our India, US, and UAE entities.

This is a learning‑first role with real ownership. You will leave with practical experience in how a high‑growth, multi‑country company designs, administers, and audits pay.

Key Responsibilities
Compensation operations
  • Support the annual and mid‑year appraisal cycles: prepare and validate merit and bonus data, and track approvals.
  • Assist with promotion, retention, and off‑cycle compensation cases: gather inputs, build comparisons, and keep clean documentation.
  • Prepare and audit compensation and promotion letters, checking figures, templates, and employee data before release.
  • Maintain compensation trackers and approval records so every pay decision has a clear audit trail.
Analysis and benchmarking
  • Run market benchmarking and pay‑range positioning (P25/P50/P75) using survey and market data.
  • Build peer comparisons and internal equity analyses to support compensation decisions.
  • Analyse cost‑of‑living and wage data across locations for the US and India.
Benefits and Total Rewards support
  • Assist with benefits administration, employee queries, and vendor coordination.
  • Support rewards and recognition programs and policy documentation.
Data and reporting
  • Build and maintain Excel/Google Sheets models, dashboards, and reports for leadership and HRBPs.
  • Reconcile data between the HRIS and compensation workbooks, and flag discrepancies.
  • Help improve and automate recurring processes (templates, formulas, and workflows) to reduce manual effort and errors.
Stakeholder support
  • Respond to HRBP and employee queries on compensation and benefits, with guidance from the manager.
  • Handle confidential employee data with discretion and integrity.
Required Qualifications
  • Pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's or Master's degree in HR, Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Statistics, or a related field (MBA/PGDM in HR preferred).
  • Prior internship or project experience in compensation and benefits, total rewards, or HR operations.
  • Strong working knowledge of Excel or Google Sheets, including lookup and reference functions (XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, INDEX-MATCH), conditional logic, SUMIFS/COUNTIFS, text and date functions, pivot tables, data validation, and basic charting.
  • Strong attention to detail and comfort working with numbers and confidential data.
  • Clear written and verbal communication.
Good to Have
  • Familiarity with compensation concepts: CTC structures, pay bands and ranges, compa‑ratio, merit matrices, variable pay, and equity.
  • Exposure to HRIS or compensation tools (Workday, Darwinbox, or similar) and market survey data.
  • Basic knowledge of Indian statutory benefits (PF, ESI, gratuity, NPS) or US benefits (401(k), health insurance).
  • Experience with Google Apps Script, Power Query, or basic SQL.
  • Interest in HR analytics and process automation.
What You'll Learn
  • End‑to‑end appraisal cycle management in a multi‑country environment
  • How compensation committees and approval cases are built and defended
  • Pay benchmarking, range design, and internal equity analysis
  • Building accurate, auditable, and automated compensation workflows
  • Working with senior HR leaders and business stakeholders
Who You Are
  • Detail‑oriented and dependable, with a strong sense of ownership
  • Curious and eager to learn, and comfortable asking questions
  • Analytical, and able to turn data into clear insights
  • Discreet and trustworthy with sensitive information
  • Able to manage multiple deadlines in a fast‑paced environment
