An apprenticeship opportunity titled Airworthiness and Certification is available at Airbus India in Bangalore. The selected candidate will join the department responsible for regulations screening and operational activities related to aircraft certification.
This program runs for 12 months and is expected to begin in July 2026, with some flexibility in the start date. The role provides exposure to aviation regulations, certification processes, and emerging digital tools used within the aerospace industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and summarize regulatory updates from authorities such as EASA, FAA, and other National Aviation Authorities, and communicate relevant changes to the Airbus expert community.
- Assess how regulatory changes may impact the current fleet and future aircraft designs.
- Support the transition from traditional certification activities to more automated and intelligent systems using AI and digital tools.
- Develop and maintain automated systems such as web scrapers that collect regulatory standards and Notices of Proposed Rulemaking from aviation authority portals.
- Use Large Language Models (LLMs) to process large regulatory documents and provide summaries, gap analysis, and cross-referencing against internal manuals.
- Apply Artificial Intelligence techniques to categorize regulatory updates so engineers can quickly identify the changes relevant to their systems.
The assigned tutor will guide the apprentice in defining professional objectives and developing technical skills during the program.
Learning Outcomes
- Understanding of aircraft airworthiness and certification, including aircraft design, in-service certification, and continued airworthiness maintenance.
- Insight into how Airbus integrates regulatory requirements from different countries into aircraft design and operational processes.
- Hands‑on experience with Python development, web scraping techniques, and AI or ML based tools.
Eligibility Criteria
- Fresh graduate with a technical undergraduate or postgraduate degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Electronics.
- A background or minor in Computer Science or Information Technology is considered beneficial but is not mandatory.
- This program is intended for candidates with no prior full‑time professional work experience. Academic projects and internships are acceptable.
- Ability to commit to the full 12‑month apprenticeship duration.
- Basic understanding of aerospace concepts and aviation regulations such as Part 21 and CS requirements is beneficial.
- Experience with Python and libraries such as BeautifulSoup or Scrapy.
- Familiarity with LLM APIs such as OpenAI or Vertex AI.
- Ability to review large technical documents and summarize key information accurately.
