Job summary

Amazon India Limited is seeking an Applied Scientist for the CMT team to advance competitive monitoring systems with machine learning and large language models. You will tackle complex production challenges in ML, work on recommender systems, and help shape a world-wide customer experience.

Responsibilities include researching problem domains, rapid experimentation, cross-team collaboration, and contributing to future science roadmaps within CMT.

Qualifications

• Experience programming in Java, C++, Python or related language.
• Experience with SQL and an RDBMS (e.g., Oracle) or Data Warehouse.
• Experience building machine learning models or developing algorithms for business application.
• Experience in state-of-the-art deep learning models architecture design and deep learning training and optimization and model pruning.
• Publications at top-tier peer-reviewed conferences or journals.

Applied Scientist, CMT

As a member of the CMT team, you'll play a key role in the evolution of our Competitive Monitoring systems to solve significantly complex and interesting technical challenges in machine learning, large language models in production, and recommender systems to name a few. The team's work directly impacts customer experience at a worldwide scale.

Key job responsibilities

• 4. Ideate on future roadmap for science in CMT
• 5. Be willing to roll up your sleeves and learn core topics outside applied science, for example ML engineering

A day in the life

A typical day might involve (a) working on ideas for improving models around product similarity or price recommendations, (b) working closely with other scientists and our ML engineers to ensure that the best models are in production, (c) writing good maintainable code that can be reused and reproduced, (d) sharing your work across CMT and beyond via technical writings and presentations

Basic Qualifications
