Job summary

Amazon Science is seeking researchers for the CMT team to advance Competitive Monitoring systems, tackling complex machine learning challenges, production-grade LLMs, and recommender systems at a global scale. You will influence customer experience through scalable scientific work and collaboration with ML engineers.

The role emphasizes research, rapid experimentation, and cross-team collaboration to deliver end-to-end solutions and future science directions in CMT.

Qualifications

• Experience programming in Java, C++, Python or related language.
• Experience with SQL and an RDBMS (e.g., Oracle) or Data Warehouse.

A day in the life

A typical day might involve (a) working on ideas for improving models around product similarity or price recommendations, (b) working closely with other scientists and our ML engineers to ensure that the best models are in production, (c) writing good maintainable code that can be reused and reproduced, (d) sharing your work across CMT and beyond via technical writings and presentations

Basic Qualifications

• Experience programming in Java, C++, Python or related language
• Experience with SQL and an RDBMS (e.g., Oracle) or Data Warehouse

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience implementing algorithms using both toolkits and self-developed code
