Job summary

viavisolutions is seeking a QA Engineer to join the Quality Assurance team in Pune. The role focuses on manual testing, defect tracking, and test management with exposure to automation concepts.

The candidate will work with HP ALM/Quality Center (HPQC), UFT/QTP, VB Script and data-driven testing approaches to validate applications across domains, including finance, HR, manufacturing and marketing.

Qualifications

• Experience in manual testing and SDLC/STLC processes.
• Ability to design test cases and follow defect life cycles.
• Hands-on with functional, regression, smoke and sanity testing.
• Knowledge of automation concepts and test automation tools.
• Familiarity with HP ALM/HPQC and Jira for defect tracking.

Responsibilities

• Design, create, and execute test cases and test scenarios.
• Perform Functional, Regression, Smoke, and Sanity Testing.
• Log, track, and verify defects using HP ALM/Quality Center (HPQC).
• Execute automation scripts developed using UFT/QTP and VB Script.
• Analyze test results and identify application defects.
• Prepare test execution reports and status updates.
• Participate in requirement reviews and understand business processes.
• Collaborate with Business Analysts, Developers, and QA team members.
• Maintain test documentation and test evidence.
• Support daily test execution activities and defect triage meetings.
