What You’ll Be Doing (position summary):

As Application support specialist, you will be responsible for working on incident and problem management and support different applications both prod and non-prod. This role ensures that application systems are robust, secure, and aligned with business requirements by participating in the technical design, development, and integration of multi-platform systems. You will provide technical expertise for small to medium, complex projects and initiatives related to the implementation and support of application and/or infrastructure technology in a multi-platform environment.

How You’ll Succeed (responsibilities):
  • Analysis & Support: Evaluate service requests to ensure adherence to standards and processes. Coordinate and execute implementation plans.
  • Troubleshooting Skills: Identify and resolve small to medium complex production problems. Monitor and analyze supported services to identify opportunities for improvement and recommend solutions.
  • Detail Oriented: You understand that success is in the details. Your critical thinking skills help inform your decision-making, and you notice things that others might miss.
Relationship Management:
  • Build strong relationships and partnerships with technical team members and peers to facilitate effective collaboration.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with stakeholders, using advanced verbal communication skills, including appropriate tone, style, and structure.
CROSS-FUNCTIONAL RELATIONSHIPS:
  • Collaborates with other operational teams, QA teams, and development teams to define and deliver technical solutions.
  • Works closely with infrastructure and operations teams to ensure seamless deployment and integration of applications.
  • Partners with project managers and product owners to align technical deliverables with business priorities.

Who You Are (skills/qualifications):
Must Have Skills:
  • 5+ years of experience in production application support, working with technologies such as Java/J2EE, APIs, secure file transfer, Feedhub, and batch scheduling.
  • Skilled in defining and implementing changes to production applications and familiar with environments like CaaS, shell scripting, Oracle Databases, Autosys, version control, Agile/DevOps, and middleware (JBoss, Weblogic, or Websphere).
  • Strong knowledge of Windows, Linux RedHat, Unix Solaris, basic network troubleshooting, and secure file transfer protocols.
  • Experience with tools such as Dynatrace, Splunk, Jenkins, Jira, Confluence, or other DevOps tools is an asset.
  • Ensure the smooth execution of changes by following established implementation processes.
  • Gather requirements, validate readiness, and coordinate with project managers, delivery teams, and stakeholders to ensure successful and timely deployments.
  • Manage end-to-end deployment activities, including securing approvals, tracking statuses, conducting pre-deployment validations, and ensuring proper handovers for testing. If issues arise, identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, engage backup teams as needed, and keep stakeholders informed, ensuring deployment quality, risk mitigation, and successful project delivery.
