Job summary

DTCC is seeking an Application Support Engineer to join the Information Technology group. You will provide centralized application and infrastructure support for critical business applications, working closely with development, infrastructure, and operations teams to ensure service stability.

The role emphasizes proactive monitoring, incident management, change and release activities, and collaboration with global teams to deliver reliable technology solutions for the financial markets.

Qualifications

• Understanding of application support principles and incident management.
• Experience in Linux/Windows environments with log analysis and scripting.
• Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools (Splunk, Grafana, Dynatrace, AppDynamics).
• Working knowledge of SQL and ability to run queries for analysis.
• Experience with ITSM tools such as ServiceNow for incident/change management.
• Familiarity with job scheduling and platforms like AutoSys, OpenShift, Kubernetes, or cloud environments.
• Basic understanding of security fundamentals and credential handling.
• Exposure to capital markets and financial services is preferred.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS) and AI-powered support tools is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Support production applications and ensure service stability in collaboration with development and operations teams.
• Participate in incident resolution with impact analysis, troubleshooting, and timely communication.
• Support incident, problem, and change management activities with senior engineers and stakeholders.
• Monitor applications to identify issues impacting availability or performance.
• Maintain runbooks, knowledge articles, and operational documentation for readiness.
• Assist in production code releases and vendor application upgrades.
• Contribute to disaster recovery testing and resilience documentation.

The Impact You Will Have In This Role

Enterprise Application Support (EAS) provides centralized application and infrastructure support for all critical business applications and infrastructure support.

The Application Support Engineer role will be responsible for providing technical support of all the application. The role will be executing all aspects of the operating procedures/run books within a predefined shift pattern. This role is expected to work closely with the required development teams, our Enterprise Infrastructure partners and our internal business clients to resolve and escalation technical support incidents where necessary.

Key Responsibilities

• An Application Support Engineer, partnering with Application Development, Infrastructure, and Operations teams to support production applications and ensure service stability.
• Participate in the resolution of production incidents, providing impact analysis, troubleshooting support, and timely communication.
• Support incident, problem, and major incident management activities, working with senior engineers and stakeholders through resolution.
• Monitor applications and proactively identify issues that may impact system availability or performance.
• Review and maintain runbooks, knowledge articles, and operational documentation to ensure production readiness and consistency.
• Support change, release, and deployment activities, including production code releases and vendor application upgrades.
• Participate in Disaster Recovery testing and operational resilience activities, including documentation and evidence collection.
• Identify opportunities for operational improvements and automation to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort.
• Follow established risk, control, and operational procedures, escalating issues appropriately.
• Collaborate with global teams to ensure consistent support coverage and service delivery.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 to 5 years of related experience.
• Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent work experience.

Talents Needed for Success

• Understanding of application support principles, production monitoring, incident management, and troubleshooting.
• Experience working in Linux and Windows environments, including log analysis and scripting skills
• Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Splunk, Grafana, Dynatrace, AppDynamics, or similar platforms.
• Working knowledge of SQL and the ability to execute queries for analysis and tuning activities.
• Experience with ITSM tools such as ServiceNow for incident, problem, and change management.
• Familiarity with job scheduling and modern application platforms such as AutoSys, OpenShift, Kubernetes, or cloud-hosted environments.
• Basic understanding of security fundamentals, including certificate management and credential handling.
• Exposure to capital markets and financial services is preferred.
• Exposure to messaging, networking, or mainframe technologies is a plus.
• Exposure applications hosted in AWS or other cloud platforms.
• Exposure to AI-powered support tools and automation technologies is desirable.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively across technical and business teams.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced production support environment and collaborate with globally distributed teams.
