Job summary

Vanguard in Hyderabad, Telangana, seeks an experienced backend engineer to design, develop, and optimize applications and databases, integrating multiple data sources and APIs while ensuring security and enterprise-grade resilience. You will mentor staff, collaborate with front-end teams, and drive production-ready code.

The role emphasizes hands-on development with Python and TypeScript, AWS expertise, and a strong emphasis on scalable backend systems and data integration.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in software development, system integration, database design, and back-end architecture.
• Bachelor's degree (B.E./B.Tech) in Computer Science or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
• Expertise in server-side development, system integration, and API management; strong knowledge of database design, optimization, debugging, and performance tuning.
• Must-have skills: Java, Spring Boot, Angular, Node JS, AWS, CloudFormation, ECS, Fargate, DynamoDB, S3, Lambda, IAM, SQL queries, GitHub, Bitbucket, Bamboo, CI/CD, TDD/BDD, Splunk, Honeycomb, Python.
• Knowledge of Agile, Confluence, JIRA; aptitude for continuous process improvement.
• Adobe Experience Manager, AWS Cloud background.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills; strong backend development experience including API development, Python and TypeScript.
• Experience with LLM and Agent Development, prompt engineering, AI workflows and automation.
• Sound understanding of data concepts and AWS.

Responsibilities

• Provides senior level system analysis, design, development, and implementation of applications and databases; integrates third party products.
• Translates technical specifications into code for complex projects; writes programs, tests artifacts, and produces reports; supports automation.
• Lead backend optimization efforts for high performance and scalability.
• Spearhead data source, API, and service integration for streamlined data flow.
• Oversee creation and upkeep of backend documentation for cross-functional teams.
• Advocate and implement security, data protection, and backend resilience practices.
• Collaborate with frontend teams to design backend interfaces for seamless UX.
• Manage deployment, testing, and production support; handle change control and documentation.
• Understand development methodologies and architecture standards; mentor junior staff.
• Participate in design, code, and test inspections; communicate technical considerations.
• Understand Vanguard technologies and interfaces with business areas and systems.
• Interface with cross-functional teams to communicate system issues clearly; ensure compliance with IT and security policies.
• Participate in special projects; perform other duties as assigned.
• Lead backend optimization and data integration initiatives; maintain detailed backend docs.
• Advocate security and enterprise-grade resilience; ensure robust architecture.

Role Summary

This role provides advanced-level system analysis, design, development, and implementation of applications and databases under general direction, and leads backend optimization, data integration, documentation, and secure, scalable architecture aligned with enterprise standards.

Responsibilities

• 1. Provides senior level system analysis, design, development, and implementation of applications and databases. Integrates third party products.
• 2. Translates technical specifications into code for complex new or enhancement projects for internal clients. Writes programs, develops code, tests artifacts, and produces reports. Employs software development techniques to ensure tests are implemented in a way that support automation.
• 3. Lead backend system optimization efforts, ensuring high performance, scalability, and responsiveness under varying workloads.
• 4. Spearhead the integration of multiple data sources, APIs, and services, streamlining data flow and improving overall system efficiency.
• 5. Oversee the creation and upkeep of detailed backend documentation, helping cross-functional teams understand architecture and logic.
• 6. Advocate and implement best practices for security, data protection, and backend resilience, aligning with enterprise-grade standards.
• 7. Collaborate with front-end teams to design backend interfaces that support seamless and intuitive user experiences.
• 8. Elevates code into the development, test, and production environments on schedule. Provides follow up production support. Submits change control requests and documents.
• 9. Thoroughly understands software development methodology. Thoroughly understands development architecture standards. Trains and mentors staff with less experience. Resolves elevated issues.
• 10. Participates in design, code, and test inspections throughout the life cycle to identify issues. Explains technical considerations at related meetings, including those with internal clients. Performs systems analysis activities.
• 11. Thoroughly understands client business functions and technology needs. Has a broad understanding of Vanguard's technologies, tools, and applications, including those that interface with business area and systems.
• 12. Interfaces with cross functional team members, and communicates systems issues at the appropriate technical level for each audience.
• 13. Thoroughly understands and complies with Information Technology and Information Security policies and procedures, and verifies that deliverables meet requirements.
• 14. Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.

• Strong Software Development background with hands-on development experience, including API development, Python(Preferred), and TypeScript (5-7 years).
• Experience with LLM and Agent Development.
• Strong prompt engineering skills with an understanding of how agents and memory management work.
• Experience with AI workflows and automation.
• Sound understanding of data concepts and AWS.
• Experience in UI Path Platform and UIPath Agent Builder background,
• Python is mandatory.
