Job Summary

The Application Engineer works closely with the Sales & Marketing Team to create proposals, design material handling systems, and demonstrate an eagerness to learn our industry and the various aspects involved with our system designs and equipment applications. Application Engineers at Bastian Solutions are given a high level of responsibility and autonomy to make decisions. This role allows you to work with some of the latest technologies in the ever‑changing material handling field including conveyors, sorters, ASRS, robotics, AGVs, and more.

General Responsibilities

• Design equipment with details necessary for customer acceptance.
• Develop pre‑sales material handling equipment layout drawings based on RFQ inputs.
• Be highly skilled and knowledgeable in creating AutoCAD 2D drawings.
• Report to our senior design/application engineer and work closely with the USA team.
• Drive and participate in internal and external customer reviews. Provide concepts to customers and the sales team to aid in sales.
• Willing to travel to customer sites across India as required to study the customer requirement.

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Preferably 7 to 8 years of working experience in an automated material handling environment, including design of unit handling and pallet handling conveyors layout drawing.
• Minimum knowledge of sorters & ASRS systems.
• Experience with the latest versions of AutoCAD 2D & 3D software and ability to learn customized CAD software.
• Familiar with the Microsoft Office product suite.
• Good mechanical engineering knowledge as it pertains to design & application.
• Strong scheduling and organizational skills.
• Good communication skills.
• Enjoy working in a team environment.
• Attend meetings on time with active involvement.
