Job summary

Celeros Flow Technology in Bangalore is seeking an Application Engineer – Aftermarket for API pumps to support technical tendering, quotations, and service upgrades. Based in Bangalore, you will work with regional sales, channel partners, customers and internal teams to understand requirements, review specifications, and prepare techno-commercial offers in line with company policies.

You will coordinate with manufacturing, supply chain and sales to ensure accurate quotations, timely submissions

Qualifications

• BE or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university in India.
• Experience in application engineering, tendering, estimation, quotation preparation or sales support for industrial pumps.
• Exposure to API pumps, pump aftermarket, spare parts or industrial rotating equipment is preferred.
• Experience coordinating with sales and supply chain teams is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with sales to understand customer requirements, specs, scope and submission timelines.
• Review RFQs and tender documents to identify technical and commercial requirements.
• Assist in preparing techno-commercial offers, quotations and tender submissions for API pump aftermarket products.
• Review technical specs and identify applicable customer requirements for pumps, parts and services.
• Coordinate with suppliers and Supply Chain to obtain quotations for components and equipment.
• Support evaluation of supplier quotations to ensure compliance with scope.
• Assist in preparing technical and commercial clarifications for customers and internal teams.
• Coordinate with manufacturing, project management and supply chain to support order handover.
• Maintain records of inquiries, quotations and opportunities; update tracking system.
• Support cost estimates and commercial evaluations to ensure competitive quotations.
• Identify technical and commercial risks and escalate to reporting manager.
• Follow up to ensure timely submission of quotations and progress of orders.
• Support regional sales in aftermarket business development for spares and services.
• Ensure compliance with policies, tendering procedures and business processes.

JOB SUMMARY

The Application Engineer – Aftermarket will report to the Regional Commercial Operations Lead – Pump AM, APAC, and will be based in Bangalore. The role involves supporting technical tendering and quotation activities for API pump aftermarket requirements, including replacement pumps, spare parts, upgrades, and services.

The incumbent will work closely with the regional sales team, channel partners, customers, and internal stakeholders to understand customer requirements, review technical specifications, prepare techno-commercial offers, and ensure accurate and timely submission of quotations in line with company policies and procedures.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Coordinate with the sales team to understand customer requirements, technical specifications, scope, and submission timelines.
• Review customer inquiries, RFQs, and tender documents to identify technical and commercial requirements.
• Assist in preparing techno-commercial offers, quotations, and tender submissions for API pump aftermarket products and services.
• Review technical specifications and identify applicable customer requirements for replacement pumps, spare parts, and related services.
• Coordinate with suppliers and the Supply Chain team to obtain quotations for required components and bought-in equipment.
• Support the evaluation of supplier quotations to ensure compliance with customer specifications and scope requirements.
• Assist in preparing technical and commercial clarifications for customers, sales teams, and internal stakeholders.
• Coordinate with manufacturing, project management, and supply chain teams to support smooth order handover.
• Maintain accurate records of customer inquiries, quotations, and opportunities, and update the tracking system regularly.
• Support the preparation of cost estimates and commercial evaluations to ensure competitive and accurate quotations.
• Assist in identifying potential technical and commercial risks and elevate issues to the reporting manager.
• Follow up with internal stakeholders to ensure timely submission of quotations and progress of orders.
• Support the regional sales team in aftermarket business development activities related to pump spares, replacements, and services.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, tendering procedures, and applicable business processes.
  Perform other related responsibilities as assigned by the reporting manager.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Basic understanding of API pumps, industrial pumps, pump components, and aftermarket services.
• Knowledge of technical tendering, RFQ processing, quotation preparation, or application engineering.
• Understanding of technical drawings, engineering specifications, and customer requirements.
• Good commercial awareness and basic understanding of costing and pricing.
• Familiarity with ERP systems, preferably SAP, for quotation, material, or order-related activities.
• Basic understanding of purchase processes, supplier quotations, and commercial terms.
• Good analytical skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Effective communication and coordination skills to work with sales, engineering, supply chain, and other internal teams.
• Ability to manage multiple inquiries and meet quotation submission deadlines.
• Willingness to learn, take ownership of assigned tasks, and work in a collaborative environment.
• Good written and verbal communication skills in English. Knowledge of Hindi is preferred.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• BE or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university or institute in India.
• 4–5 years of relevant experience in application engineering, technical tendering, estimation, quotation preparation, or sales support for industrial pumps.
• Exposure to API pumps, pump aftermarket, spare parts, replacement pumps, or industrial rotating equipment is preferred.
• Experience in reviewing RFQs, preparing quotations, and coordinating with sales and supply chain teams will be an advantage.
• Exposure to ERP systems, preferably SAP, is desirable.
• Experience in an international business environment is an added advantage.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Desk-based role requiring regular use of a computer, telephone, and other office equipment.
