Job summary

JAC Recruitment in Pune is seeking an Application Engineer to deliver pre-sales and post-sales application support for CNC machining solutions. Based in the Pune region, you will combine technical application engineering, customer training at sites, and hands-on machine demonstrations to help customers maximise productivity and machining performance.

You will read drawings, assess feasibility, and conduct test-cut trials, while guiding customers on cycle times, accuracy, and process

Qualifications

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related field; bachelor's preferred.
• Experience in machine tool manufacturing or parts machining.
• Fluency in English and Marathi; Hindi a plus.

Job description

The Application Engineer role focuses on providing pre-sales and post-sales application support for CNC machining solutions. Based in the Pune region, the position combines technical application engineering, customer support, machine demonstrations, and process optimisation to help customers maximise productivity and machining performance.

Responsibilities

Pre-sales Activities

• Create cycle time estimation sheets.

• Read engineering drawings and assess machining feasibility.

• Conduct test-cut trials at technical centres in Bengaluru, Gurugram, and Pune.

Post-sales Activities

• Train customers on machine operation and best practices at customer sites.

• Resolve application-related issues and provide technical support at customer locations.

• Recommend solutions to improve cycle times, machining accuracy, and overall productivity.

• Support exhibitions, private shows, local events, and major industry exhibitions.

• Conduct machine demonstrations at a technical centre in Pune.

Requirements

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.

• Experience within a machine tool manufacturer or parts machining environment, including automotive, aerospace, medical, or die and mould industries.

• Experience handling turnkey projects would be advantageous.

• Technical Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of machine tool operation and handling, engineering drawing interpretation, NC programming, and VMC machining, combined with a positive and proactive approach to problem-solving.

  • Knowledge of 5-axis simultaneous machining, fixture design and application, metrology, profile machining, and turning operations would be advantageous.

• Software Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required, while experience with CAD/CAM software would be beneficial.

• Language Skills: Fluency in English and Marathi is required; ability to communicate in Hindi would be an advantage.
