What will you do:
We are seeking an Applications Engineer, local to Pune, to join our global Documentation Team. In this role, you will assist in maintaining all CAD/CAM part files that are used for getting started purposes and used in our documentation and training materials. You will update existing part files and assist in the development of new part files to illustrate new software features and enhancements. You will also review documents with their supporting part files to ensure they remain aligned. You will collaborate with project managers and developers, the software QA team, and global staff when preparing part files for the latest/upcoming SolidCAM releases. Training on SolidCAM software and its CAD integrations will be provided.
Your responsibilities:
·Maintain CAD/CAM part files for getting started and documentation purposes.
·Follow annual maintenance process and adhere to strict part file conventions.
·Review and ensure alignment of documents with their supporting part files.
·Convert, check, and save part files according to SolidCAM version requirements.
·Verify accuracy and consistency of part files across all CAD integrations.
·Modify existing and create new part files for all CAD integrations.
·Part files having issues must be resolved during testing, if possible.
·Report and track in Atlassian Jira issues/bugs which cannot be resolved.
Qualifications you will bring:
·Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
·Minimum 2 years of work experience in generating 3 and 5-Axis tool paths in any CAM software.
·Proficiency in CAD software, particularly SOLIDWORKS, Solid Edge, and Inventor.
·Basic understanding of CNC/VMC machines and knowledge of all CAM modules, including 2.5D, 3X, 5X, and Mill-Turn.
·Strong knowledge of CNC manufacturing processes, including Milling, Turning, and Mill-Turn machining.
·Technical Skills in appropriate cutting tool selections and tool path strategies for the best tool path generation results.
·Strong organizational skills with attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
·Excellent interpersonal skills for team communication and collaboration with the ability to work independently.
·Motivation, dedication, and strong problem-solving abilities.
·Eagerness to learn new technologies/applications.
Preferred Qualifications:
·Experience in CAM software such as SolidCAM, MasterCAM, Espirit, HyperMill, or Seimens NX.
·Strong knowledge of 5-Axis milling, Swiss machining, and Wire EDM.
·Experience working with technical documentation.
·Basic understanding of software development.
·Familiarity with Atlassian Jira for bug tracking, issue tracking, feature development, and agile project management.
