Armstrong in Mahindra World City, Chennai, is seeking an Application Engineer to provide 100% on-time technical support for thermal design applications and to assist customers with expert guidance on energy systems. The role requires hands-on heat load calculations, piping design, and P&ID development.

The candidate should have 3-5 years of experience in mechanical/thermal design, a B.Tech/B.E. in Mechanical (or related fields), and familiarity with hot water/steam systems.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience in mechanical/thermal design.
• B.Tech/B.E. in Mechanical, Energy Management or Thermal Engineering.
• Experience in hot water/steam systems desirable.
• Proficient in reading P&ID and PFD.

Responsabilités

• Provide on-time technical support to customers with thermal design expertise.
• Prepare costing, quotations and back-up documents.
• Create P&IDs and technical data sheets for selected equipment.
• Perform heat load calculations as per standards.
• Design hot water and chemical processing systems.
• Coordinate data collection from internal teams and field support for quotations.

Job Description:

An Application Engineer shall be responsible to provide 100% on-time technical support to customer, assist them by providing technical expertise and work upon thermal design applications.

Deliverables:

• Provide costing and quotation with calculations for thermal design applications with all necessary back hand documents
• Prepare documents such as P&IDs and Technical data sheets of selected equipment
• Estimation of Heat Load Calculations as per standards
• Design of Hot Water Systems and Chemical processing systems
• Collection of required data from internal team / customer / from fieldSupport in getting quotations from vendors

Key Skills:

• Understanding of various standards like ASHRAE/ISHRAE/BEE/ASME for Hot and Cold-Water Applications
• Experience in piping design
• Mass and Energy balance of thermal system
• Ability to read and interpret Energy systems DBR and construction documents.
• Ability to accomplish tasks timely with minimal supervision.
• Ability to interact openly with the customer& internal team.
• Should be able to work in virtual teams as practice expands
• Ability to read and create P&ID for hot water and chilled water system AUTOCAD
• Knowledge on Heat Transfer Coils / Radiators / AHU Controls / COP of Chiller / Cost saving Calculations
• A good background on thermodynamics, R&AC and Thermal Engineering.
• Able to draw P&ID and PFD in ACAD

Desired Skills:

• Hands on experience on Thermal Engineering design of Hot water systems, steam-based systems, and Heat recovery systems
• Experience in field surveys to evaluate/audit existing hot water/chilled water system and propose optimized solution.
• Experience in various energy savings project.
