Job summary

Fusion My Business is seeking an experienced Application Development Manager to lead the product engineering team in Chennai. You will own the end‑to‑end development lifecycle for mobile, web, and backend integrations, ensuring stability, scalability and timely delivery across multiple products.

You will collaborate with Product, UI/UX, Backend, QA and DevOps to drive features, plan releases and manage production support.

Qualifications

• 6–10 years of experience in software/application development.
• 2–3 years of experience managing or leading an application development team.
• Strong experience in mobile application development, preferably Android.
• Good understanding of APIs, REST services, databases and third‑party integrations.
• Experience with application deployment and production support.
• Strong understanding of SDLC, Agile/Scrum and software development processes.
• Experience working with Git/version control and CI/CD processes.
• Strong debugging and problem‑solving skills.
• Good understanding of application security and performance optimisation.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.

We are looking for an experienced Application Development Manager to lead our application development team and drive the successful delivery, stability and continuous improvement of our applications.

Key Responsibilities

Application & Team Management

• Lead and manage the application development team.
• Plan, allocate and track development tasks across the team.
• Ensure timely delivery of application features, enhancements and fixes.
• Monitor team performance, productivity and development quality.
• Conduct regular technical and project reviews.

Mobile & Application Development

• Oversee development and maintenance of Android/iOS and web-based applications.
• Work closely with Product, UI/UX, Backend, QA and DevOps teams.
• Ensure applications are stable, scalable, secure and user-friendly.
• Review application architecture, development practices and technical solutions.
• Identify and resolve technical issues affecting application performance.

Product & Feature Delivery

• Work closely with the Product Manager to understand requirements and convert them into technical development plans.
• Break requirements into actionable development tasks.
• Ensure proper estimation, prioritisation and delivery of features.
• Support integrations with payment platforms, POS, Kiosk, APIs and third-party services.
• Ensure new features are properly tested before production release.

Release & Production Management

• Manage application release planning and deployment.
• Ensure proper build, testing and production release processes.
• Monitor production issues and coordinate quick resolution.
• Establish proper version control, release notes and deployment processes.
• Ensure critical application issues are escalated and resolved within agreed timelines.

Quality & Process

• Implement coding standards, development guidelines and review processes.
• Ensure proper documentation and technical knowledge sharing.
• Work with QA to improve testing coverage and reduce production defects.
• Identify recurring issues and drive root-cause analysis and permanent solutions.
• Continuously improve development processes and team productivity.

Required Skills

• 6–10 years of experience in software/application development.
• Minimum 2–3 years of experience managing or leading an application development team.
• Strong experience in mobile application development, preferably Android.
