UPS in Chennai is seeking an experienced Application Architect – Java to define architecture for Hybrid Cloud applications and evaluate technical frameworks. The Architect will play a crucial role in the UPS Solution Architecture review process, influencing I.S. strategy while collaborating with US-based teams.
The ideal candidate should have 8-13 years of Java experience, along with significant architectural expertise in enterprise systems. This is a permanent position.
Application Architect – Java
Application Architect will be responsible for defining architecture for Hybrid Cloud applications, evaluating technical frameworks, and SaaS solutions. The Architect will participate in UPS Solution Architecture review processes, produce solution architect artifacts (high‑ and low‑level designs, integration designs, etc.), and hold architecture reviews.
In this role, the Application Architect influences the development and implementation of UPS Information Services (I.S.) strategy, initiatives, and governing policies. The Architect conceives solutions, builds consensus, and sells and executes solutions across business areas. The Architect supports I.S. leadership by planning and championing broad initiatives aimed at delivering value to internal and external stakeholders, leveraging data, technical, and business knowledge to develop technical frameworks and solutions at portfolio and enterprise levels. The Architect is involved throughout the project lifecycle with emphasis on initiation, feasibility, and analysis phases.
Position will require hours overlap with US hours periodically (2-3 times a week, until US noon timeframe) to collaborate with US‑based enterprise architects and application architects.
