Job summary

Merkle Schweiz is seeking an API Developer for Salesforce Commerce Cloud (SFCC) to design, develop, and maintain API-driven solutions. You will build integrations using SCAPI, OCAPI, REST APIs and collaborate on BFF services for headless storefronts, while ensuring security, performance, and scalability across platforms.

You will work with Full Stack Developers and Architects to implement reusable API patterns and contribute to integration design artifacts and technical documentation.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in API development and integration engineering.
• 3+ years SFCC development experience.
• Experience with SCAPI and OCAPI.
• Designing REST APIs and web services.
• Strong API security concepts (OAuth, auth).
• Experience with SFCC Service Framework.
• Knowledge of headless commerce and composable architecture.
• Integrations between SFCC and third-party systems.
• Strong debugging and analytical skills.

About the job

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain API-driven solutions for Salesforce Commerce Cloud (SFCC).
• Develop and enhance integrations using SCAPI, OCAPI, REST APIs, and web services.
• Collaborate with Full Stack Developers to define and implement BFF (Backend for Frontend) services supporting headless storefront experiences.
• Build reusable APIs and integration services to support commerce, customer, product, pricing, inventory, and checkout capabilities.
• Develop and maintain Service Framework integrations with enterprise and third‑party systems.
• Troubleshoot and resolve API, integration, and application issues across development and production environments.
• Participate in solution design discussions and contribute to API architecture and integration best practices.
• Support release activities, deployment validation, and post-release monitoring.
• Ensure API solutions meet security, scalability, performance, and maintainability standards.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, API specifications, and integration design artifacts.
