Job Description

An Anesthesia Technician is responsible for preparing, checking, and maintaining anesthesia equipment and supplies required for surgical procedures and other interventions. The involves assisting anesthesiologists, ensuring equipment readiness, supporting patient monitoring setup, and maintaining safety standards in operation theatres and procedural areas.

• Prepare anesthesia workstations before scheduled procedures.
• Check anesthesia machines, ventilators, monitors, and suction equipment.
• Ensure the availability of airway devices, breathing circuits, and related accessories.
• Assist anesthesiologists with equipment setup before procedures.
• Prepare monitoring equipment, including ECG, blood pressure, and oxygen saturation monitors.
• Check oxygen supply systems and report irregularities.
• Arrange emergency airway equipment and resuscitation supplies.
• Assist with positioning and preparation of equipment for anesthesia procedures.
• Support anesthesiologists during induction, maintenance, and recovery phases as assigned.
• Clean, disinfect, and prepare reusable equipment according to approved protocols.
• Coordinate with CSSD for sterilized instruments and accessories.
