Job summary

GlobalLogic is seeking an experienced Android developer to build and maintain native mobile apps for the Android platform. You will focus on performance, quality, and responsiveness while owning code quality and automation.

With 6-8 years of experience, you will deliver independently with minimal supervision, troubleshoot customer issues, and be ready to scale up with evolving technologies. The role is based in India.

Qualifications

• 6-8 years of experience delivering native mobile apps.
• Expert in Kotlin or Java.
• Experience with RESTful APIs, offline storage, threading, and performance tuning.
• Strong knowledge of Android UI design principles and SOLID.
• Knowledge of MVVM, MVP, VIPER architectures.
• Knowledge of Android libraries and chart libraries.
• CI/CD and release practices, debugging proficiency.

• Ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of the application

Required Skills

• 6-8 years of experience in delivering native mobile applications


• Expert in either Kotlin or Java


• Experience with RESTful APIs, offline storage, threading, and performance tuning


• Strong knowledge of UI design principles, patterns, and best practices like SOLID principles for Android


• Knowledge of mobile application architecture patterns like MVVM, MVP, VIPER


• Knowledge of Android ecosystem and the libraries available for common tasks


• Good understanding of chart libraries available for Android


• Proven focus on code versioning, unit testing coverage, CI/CD and release practices


• Experience in implementing for ease of operation, maintenance and debuggability


• Proven responsiveness to customer issues and excellent debugging skills

Desired Skills

• Experience in Android networking stack


• Understanding of data networking architecture and protocols


• Should be good on TCP/UDP, Sockets and asynchronous TCP socket programming


• Familiarity with cloud message APIs and push notifications

• Experience with GraphQL
