Job summary

Silicon Signals is seeking an experienced Android BSP Engineer to develop, integrate, and maintain BSP components for Android platforms in India. You will set up the AOSP build system, customize device/vendor trees, and work on the boot flow from bootloader to init.

You will also develop Linux kernel drivers, Android HALs, and SELinux policies, and bring up peripherals across SoC platforms. Collaboration with QA and hardware teams, mentoring juniors, and strong debugging skills are essential in

Qualifications

• Proficient in C/C++ with strong debugging and code reading skills.
• Experience with AOSP build system and device/vendor trees setup.
• Deep understanding of Android boot flow and HAL development, including AIDL/HIDL and Treble/VNDK/GKI.

Responsibilities

• Develop, integrate, and maintain BSP components for Android platforms.
• Set up and customize the AOSP build system and device/vendor trees.
• Work on the Android boot flow from bootloader to init.
• Develop Linux kernel device drivers and write Device Tree files.
• Develop Android HALs (AIDL/HIDL) and work with Treble, VNDK, and GKI.
• Write and debug SELinux policies.
• Bring up peripherals like display, touch, camera, audio, sensors, USB, and networking.
• Debug using adb, fastboot, logcat, dmesg, ftrace, and Perfetto; analyze panics/tombstones.
• Work on SoC platforms (Qualcomm, NXP, Rockchip, MediaTek).
• Use Git/Gerrit for source management and code reviews.
• Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with QA and hardware teams.

• Set up and customize the AOSP build system (Soong/Blueprint, Make) and device/vendor trees.
• Work on the Android boot flow: bootloader (ABL/U-Boot/LK), kernel, init, and init.rc.
• Develop Linux kernel device drivers and author Device Tree files.
• Develop Android HALs (AIDL/HIDL) and work with Project Treble, VNDK, and GKI.
• Write and debug SELinux policies.
• Bring up peripherals: display, touch, camera, audio, sensors, USB, Wi-Fi/BT.
• Debug using adb, fastboot, logcat, dmesg, ftrace, and systrace/Perfetto, and analyze kernel panics and tombstones.
• Work on SoC platforms such as Qualcomm, NXP, Rockchip, or MediaTek.
• Use Git/Gerrit for source management and code reviews.
• Mentor junior engineers and collaborates with QA and hardware teams.
