Job summary

Truminds Software Systems seeks a seasoned Android Platform engineer to drive AOSP architecture, build, and platform development across bootloader, kernel, device tree through HAL and Android Framework. You will troubleshoot end-to-end platform issues and lead cross-functional collaboration with BSP, hardware, networking and QA teams.

The role requires 5–8 years in Embedded Linux/Android, strong AOSP build experience, and expertise in version migration, performance tuning, and production

Qualifications

• 5-8 years in Embedded Linux or Android platform, Kernel Driver development.
• Experience with Android AOSP build systems and SOC / BSP bring up.
• Expertise on Android version upgrades/migrations.
• Wide Experience with embedded systems and SoC-based products.
• Good knowledge of Kernel internals, device tree, and driver development.
• Strong working knowledge of Networking concepts on Android.
• Performance Analysis and Optimization.
• CTS/VTS/GTS readiness and release qualification.
• Experience with CI/CD, automated testing and production releases.
• Troubleshoot issues using Wireshark, tcpdump, perf, and kernel tracing tools.
• Strong debugging skills using wide spectrum of debugging tools.
• Drive cross-functional collaboration between Android, BSP, kernel, hardware, networking, QA and release teams.

Responsibilities

• AOSP Architecture, Build & Platform Development including Soong, Android.bp, Make/Android.mk and Ninja.
• AOSP Migration & Product Configuration - Analyze compatibility requirements and migration impact across framework, vendor, HAL, kernel and applications
• SoC/BSP integration and Android device bring-up – including Device Tree/DTB
• Lead integration and troubleshooting of Android HALs, vendor interfaces with expertise in in AIDL HALs, legacy HIDL concepts and VINTF
• Android Networking & Connectivity including networking-related platform enhancements
• Kernel, Driver & Connectivity Debugging – analyzing ANRs and debugging race issues across kernel → native → Binder → framework layers
• Performance, Power, CPU, I/O, Memory, Network and Startup Optimization
• Security, validation and Production readiness - SELinux/SEPolicy, AVB
• Educational Qualifications
• Bachelors or Masters in Electronics, Electrical, or Computer Engineering.

Candidate should have 5-8 years of experience of working on Android – Work includes AOSP platform integration, with a strong focus on Android architecture, version migration, BSP/kernel integration, HALs, networking and connectivity, framework customization, performance optimization, security, and production readiness. Should work across the Android stack—from bootloader, kernel and device tree through HAL, native services and Android Framework— and should have the ability to troubleshoot complex platform and connectivity issues end-to-end.
