Job summary

Experian in Mumbai seeks an experienced risk modelling professional to build advanced credit models for diverse clients. The role focuses on leveraging bureau and alternate data, with exposure to MSME lending, acquisition strategies, and portfolio management.

You will work with business and technical teams to ensure shared understanding and successful delivery, using Python/SAS for analysis and model development.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in credit risk modelling across customer life cycle.
• MSME lending domain experience with underwriting, credit assessment and risk management.
• Strong understanding of machine learning techniques and algorithms.
• Knowledge of modelling frameworks like Linear and Logistic Regression, Decision Tree.
• Experience with large data sets using modern languages like Python.
• Hands-on experience with SAS and Python for statistical modelling and analysis.
• Experience in banking/financial services risk portfolio management is advantageous.
• Experience managing large projects in financial services.

Role Overview

• Build next in class risk Models for our Clients leveraging bureau and alternate data
• Provide subject matter expertise on acquisition and limit assignment strategies
• You’ll play an integral role to Engage Business/Technical Consultants and delivery teams appropriately so that there is a shared understanding and agreement as to deliver proposed solution

Experience and Skills

• 8+ years of experience in credit risk modelling across customer life cycle
• Preferred domain expertise includes MSME lending, with strong understanding of MSME underwriting, credit assessment, risk segmentation, bureau-based lending, alternate-data-based lending, and portfolio risk management.
• A strong understanding of machine learning techniques and algorithms, such as Gradient Boost, KNN, etc.
• Knowledge of different modelling frameworks like Linear Regression, Logistic Regression, Decision Tree
• Experience working on large data sets using Modern languages like Python
• Good understanding and hands‑on experience of statistical modelling/data analysis tools (SAS, Python) and techniques
• Good applied statistics skills, such as distributions, statistical testing, regression etc.
• Understanding of decisioning and portfolio management in banking and financial services would be added advantage
• Understanding of credit bureau would be an added advantage
• Extensive experience of managing large projects
• Experience of working in a financial services environment or Modelling department of International Banks
• Interpret technical features into commercial benefits
