Purpose of the Role
Desk Analysts cover relevant sectors and credit products, monitor news events, and collaborate with Traders and Salespeople to convey company and market updates internally and externally to clients.
Desk Analysts build financial models for forecasting financial performance and evaluating capital structure opportunities, and conduct research on companies and industries to identify emerging trends that may impact performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and update financial models and client databases accurately.
- Prepare reports, presentations, and documentation to support sales and trading activities.
- Monitor market data, industry news, and company news to assist in the analysis of financial information for trading decisions.
- Perform fundamental credit analysis on specific credits and develop actionable investment ideas for the trading desk.
- Participate in earnings and company calls, build financial models, and maintain trading blotters.
- Assist the onshore traders on all aspects of repo/TRS trades, including collateral funding, financing, managing trigger events, and fixings.
- Monitor the credit performance of obligors in existing trades and summarize information using proprietary data sources and AI tools.
- Escalate policy or procedure breaches appropriately and embed new policies and procedures adopted due to risk mitigation.
- Take ownership for managing risk and strengthening controls in relation to the work you own or contribute to.

Required Qualifications
- Quantitative background from a top‑tier school with basic knowledge of credit instruments.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Self‑starter, proactive, and able to multi‑task.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Basic understanding of financial products and markets; experience with credit instruments, risk factors, and pricing.
- Experience in a structured credit business and exposure to the role of the Structured Credit team in Mumbai.
- Aptitude for self‑learning and a collaborative mindset.
- Certifications such as CFA are an added advantage.
