Job summary

DESRI is seeking a junior finance professional to prepare and review U.S. GAAP based financial statements for renewable energy projects and funds. You will maintain books and records, prepare management reports, and support external audits, working with teams in the U.S. and Hyderabad.

The role emphasizes accuracy, initiative, and collaboration with auditors, asset managers, treasury, and tax teams. Prior U.S. GAAP exposure is desired.

Qualifications

• Chartered Accountant/CPA degree with 0–2 years post-qualification experience.
• Excellent attention to detail and initiative with limited guidance.
• Strong analytical, written and verbal communication, plus organizational skills.
• Experience in U.S.-based audit and solid understanding of U.S. GAAP.
• Experience in energy, real estate, or financial services is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and file U.S. GAAP-based financial statements for the Entities.
• Maintain books and records in accordance with U.S. GAAP; support technical analyses.
• Prepare management reports (EBITDA, forecast vs. actual, budgets).
• Coordinate audits and investor/regulatory reporting; liaise with auditors and managers.

About the role

In this role, you will prepare, review, and file U.S. GAAP-based financial statements for the company's renewable energy projects, investment funds, and corporate entities (collectively, the “Entities”), while ensuring adherence to close timelines and control procedures.

You will maintain the book and records for the Entities in accordance with U.S. GAAP and/or prepare/review various technical accounting analyses with respect to mergers and acquisitions, structured debt, leases, power purchase agreements, variable interest entities, non-controlling interests, and other significant transactions that may be undertaken by the company from time to time.

What you'll do

You will prepare Management reports including EBITDA reports, quarterly project forecasted trial balances, and conduct budget vs. actual and forecast vs. actual analysis.

You will have the opportunity to liaise with auditors and ensure timely closure of external audits, while interacting with the U.S. and Hyderabad-based asset managers, treasury and tax team associates, and external consultants. You will review financial information to be included in various regulatory reports, engage in various forms of management and investor reporting, coordinate tax reporting, and furnish investor account statements.

Throughout the role, you will also get the opportunity to work on initiatives related to establishing, standardizing, optimizing, and documenting accounting processes, workflows, and controls.

Qualifications

• Chartered Accountant/Certified Public Accountant degree, with zero to two years of post-qualification work experience
• Exceptional attention to detail, with the ability to take initiative with limited direction and guidance
• Strong analytical abilities, with excellent written & verbal communication skills, and organizational skills
• Experience in U.S.-based audit and a good understanding of U.S. GAAP
• Experience in the energy, real estate, or financial services sector will have an added advantage
