Job summary

WPP in Mumbai seeks an experienced GL Accountant on a 6-month contract to manage general ledger activities, month-end close, and reporting. You will prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and support auditors while collaborating with cross-functional teams to resolve queries.

The role requires 2-5 years in GL RTR / financial reporting with strong control discipline. cab facility available; hybrid/office-based arrangements apply for the period.

Qualifications

• Commerce Graduate / Semi-qualified CA / Qualified CA with 2-5 years of experience in GL Accounting & RTR / Financial reporting.
• Strong understanding of GL Accounting & RTR processes.

Responsibilities

• General ledger accounting and month-end closing activities.
• Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and assist in financial reporting.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve queries.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls and audit requirements.
• Coordinate with auditors for interim audit and provide schedules.
• Prepare monthly/quarterly P&L, Balance Sheet, and related schedules.
• Analyze P&L and balance sheet items and highlight major variances.
• Handle GL-related queries via email and calls from OPCO, interdepartment, agency, and region.
• SOX compliance.

Contract duration - 6 months

What you’ll be doing:

• Responsible for general ledger accounting and month-end closing activities.
• Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and assist in financial reporting.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve queries.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls and audit requirements.
• Coordinating with auditors for Interim audit and providing the details / schedules required by them.
• Preparation of monthly and quarterly P&L, Balance sheet along with all schedule and other reports required by management.
• Doing monthly analysis of P&L and Balance sheet items and highlight major variances/ observations to management.
• Handling all GL related queries thru mails & calls from OPCO Team, Inter department, Agency & Region.
• SOX Compliance

You will need :

• Education: Commerce Graduate / Semi-qualified CA / Qulified CA with 2 - 5 years of experience into GL Accounting & RTR / Financial reporting
• Strong undrstanding of GL Accounting & RTR process.
