Job summary

Gallagher in India is seeking a QA professional to help test software supporting the business. You’ll perform manual and automated testing, design test coverage and data, and collaborate with product owners, developers, and QA colleagues in Agile teams.

You’ll build automated checks in Selenium or Playwright using C# or Java, maintain test scripts, support API and performance testing, and contribute to continuous improvement of QA practices.

Qualifications

• University Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience.
• ISTQB certification would be welcome.
• Experience in insurance or reinsurance is useful but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Review business and functional requirements and turn them into test coverage, scenarios, and test data.
• Write, document, and run manual test cases for functional, regression, integration, and system testing.
• Create, update, and maintain automated test scripts in Selenium or Playwright using C# or Java.
• Build and improve automation frameworks and reusable test components.
• Collaborate with product owners, business analysts, developers, and QA to clarify requirements and remove blockers.
• Participate in sprint planning, daily stand ups, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
• Log, track, retest, and help prioritise defects with clear updates for stakeholders.
• Support API testing or performance testing using tools like JMeter, Postman, REST clients.

Overview

You’ll help test software that supports the business. You’ll use manual and automated testing to spot issues early and help teams release with confidence. You’ll work with product owners, business analysts, developers, and QA colleagues in Agile teams. You’ll also help improve how we test, how we share information, and how we deliver work together. How You'll Make an Impact

In this role, you’ll turn business and functional requirements into clear test coverage, scenarios, and test data. You’ll design, document, and run manual tests across functional, regression, integration, and system testing. You’ll also build and maintain automated checks with Selenium or Playwright using C# or Java. Where needed, you’ll help shape reusable test components, support API or performance testing, and keep defects moving by logging, tracking, retesting, and sharing clear updates.

You’ll be part of Agile ways of working too. That means taking part in sprint planning, daily stand ups, backlog refinement, reviews, and retrospectives. You’ll work closely with others to clear blockers, improve test coverage, and keep product quality moving in the right direction. About You

Here’s what you’ll bring to the role:

• You’ve worked in software testing with a mix of manual and automated testing.
• You can turn business and functional requirements into test scenarios and test cases.
• You’ve written and run tests for functional, regression, integration, and system coverage.
• You’ve built or maintained automation in Selenium or Playwright with C# or Java.
• You’ve worked with test and defect tools such as Jira or Azure DevOps.
• You understand Agile ways of working, including sprint planning, daily stand ups, backlog refinement, reviews, and retrospectives.
• You can log, track, and retest defects, then share clear updates with others.
• You can support API testing with Postman, REST clients, or similar tools.
• You can support performance testing with JMeter or similar tools.
• You understand SQL and basic database concepts.
• ISTQB, or a similar testing certification, would be welcome.
• Experience in insurance or reinsurance would be useful, but it isn’t essential.
