Job summary

Sun Life Financial is seeking an Analyst - Actuarial with 1-3 years of actuarial experience (Life Insurance preferred) to support modeling, valuation, and asset-liability management across Sun Life's global operations.

Based in Gurugram with a focus on Axis/Prophet modeling, IFRS 17 implementations and cross-geography collaboration to drive efficiency and accuracy.

Qualifications

• 2-4 actuarial exams completed or in progress; CT5 preferred.
• Experience with life insurance products and actuarial modelling.
• Familiarity with IFRS 17 and model validation techniques.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and test Axis models across geographies.
• Develop, test and maintain models for IFRS17, LICAT, and related outputs.
• Develop tools for model inputs and extraction of results.
• Review IFRS 17 models including reserve movement checks and cashflow validation.
• Support asset-liability management analyses and interest-rate scenarios.
• Utilize Python, SQL, VBA to streamline actuarial processes and improve efficiency.
• Communicate results to stakeholders and work independently.

Analyst - Actuarial - Job Description

Office Location- Pioneer Square, Sector 62, Gurugram - 122101

Shift timings- 12 pm- 8:30 pm (Flexible)

This is Individual contributor role

Work from office - Minimum 2 anchor days which may change over the period of time

Role: Actuarial talent with 1-3 years of actuarial experience (Life Insurance preferred) or 2-4 years of total work experience to support actuarial modeling, valuation, asset-liability management, and automation initiatives across Sun Life's global operations:

Preferred skills

• Experience in life insurance domain (including knowledge of various life insurance products)
• Hands on experience on actuarial softwares like GGY Axis, Risk Integrity, Prophet
• Working knowledge of IFRS 17
• Understanding of modelling framework and validation techniques
• Appreciation of end-to-end actuarial system architecture, products, and methodologies

Qualifications

• Graduate / Postgraduate 2-4 actuarial exam and (CT5 is preferred)

Responsibilities

• Design, build and test Axis models for Sunlife across geographies including Canada, US, and Asia
• Develop, test and maintain models and utilities for implementations such as IFRS17, LICAT etc.
• Develop, test and maintain tools and utilities used for model inputs and extraction of model output
• Review and test IFRS 17 models which includes reserve movement checks/reconciliations, cashflow checks at both aggregate and policy level etc.
• Support asset-liability management activities through analysis of discount rates, asset cash flows, yield curves, and economic assumptions.
• Utilize programming languages such as Python, SQL, VBA etc to streamline actuarial processes and improve operational efficiency.
• Analyze and present results to stakeholders
• Effectively communicate with the stakeholders and execute the tasks independently
