Job summary

Srmap in Mumbai seeks a Senior Accountant with strong knowledge of Ind AS, US GAAP and IFRS to manage robust financial close processes and intercompany reconciliations. The role requires SAP ERP hands-on experience and high standards of SOX compliance.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication with auditors and cross-functional teams, and will lead ongoing process improvements using advanced Excel and Google Suite tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce.
• Proven understanding of Ind AS, US GAAP, and IFRS.
• Hands-on experience with SAP ERP (mandatory).
• Knowledge of SOX compliance.
• High emotional intelligence for managing high-pressure audit seasons.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for auditor interaction.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Advanced Excel) and Google Suite.

Responsibilities

• Reconcile Balance Sheet and Bank accounts and follow up on open items.

Your Role

Key responsibilities include:

• Reconcile Balance Sheet and Bank accounts, following up on open items
• Ensure accounting compliance with US GAAP
• Maintain effective controls to achieve high accuracy per internal guidelines
• Execute intercompany transactions and reconciliations
• Perform cash application and netting processes for ICO customers and vendors
• Accurately work and post rule-based journal entries
• Coordinate with local teams to close books of accounts
• Review and resolve audit queries (internal and external)
• Engage with local teams to align processes and resolve issues timely
• Perform accounting activities as per defined SOPs on time
• Review SOPs periodically and recommend changes with stakeholders
• Manage compliance documentation and trackers as per SOX guidelines
• Participate in standardization and continuous improvement initiatives
• Prepare and present monthly financial reports (Pre-close Deck) to Finance Director
• Report quarterly CFN submissions, 10K forms, and other annual submissions
• Perform monthly GL analysis, review, and submission for approval on schedule
• Respond promptly to local business queries
