Job summary

GlobalData in Hyderabad is looking for an Analyst in the Economic Research team to support data collection, processing, and forecasting of key economic indicators using web-scraping, APIs, and CSV data sources.

You will work with senior analysts to deliver timely datasets and research notes, while applying data science methods and maintaining documentation. This role requires 1–2 years in market/economic research and a master’s in a related field.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of experience in market research, economic research, business intelligence, or data analytics.
• Strong understanding of macroeconomics, economic indicators, and industry linkages.
• Experience with statistical modelling, forecasting, or data science techniques (e.g., regression, time-series, ML).
• Hands-on exposure to web-scraping / web-crawling, automated data collection, and API-based data downloads.
• Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel (advanced functions, pivoting) and Word.
• Working knowledge of analytical tools like Python / R / SQL is an advantage.
• Strong written and verbal communication, ability to convert complex data into clear insights.
• Ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and deliver high-quality outputs.

Responsibilities

• Lead or support data collection, data processing, statistical estimation, and forecasting of key economic indicators.
• Build or maintain automated secondary research pipelines using web-crawlers, data-scrapers, and APIs to source high-frequency economic and industry data.
• Apply data science and modelling approaches (regression, ML-based forecasting, time-series methods, clustering) to support analytical outputs.
• Build and maintain resource trackers, including verified data sources, URLs, release calendars, and automated data workflows.
• Collaborate with senior analysts and cross-functional teams to enhance data quality, research frameworks, and forecasting methodologies.
• Maintain structured documentation, metadata, and audit trails for all datasets.
• Ensure high-quality delivery of datasets, research notes, and report components within timelines.
• Conduct forward-looking analysis and forecast macroeconomic and urban indicators for major global cities.
• Develop high-quality macroeconomic PESTLE, PEST, and Country/City outlook reports for senior business audiences.
• Track global and regional macroeconomic trends and analyse their impact on industries and markets.
• Produce timely commentary, insights, and PR-ready notes on major macroeconomic releases.

What we are looking for:
