Job summary

Classic Search in India is seeking a seasoned finance professional with 5–8 years of experience to support controlling for the India business and manufacturing plant.

You will lead budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and financial governance, partnering with Accounting, Operations, and Manufacturing to drive value.

This role reports to the Head of Controlling and requires strong Excel skills, familiarity with SAP CO/PA, and proficiency in Power BI or Tableau.

Qualifications

• Graduate degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, or related discipline.
• CA / CMA qualification is strongly preferred.
• 5–8 years of experience in Controlling, Management Accounting, Corporate Finance, or Cost Control.
• Experience in Indian or multinational manufacturing organizations is preferred.
• Strong MS Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, and basic financial modelling.
• Good knowledge of MS PowerPoint.
• Experience with SAP CO/PA or similar ERP controlling modules.
• Exposure to budgeting and controlling tools.
• Knowledge of Power BI / Tableau will be an added advantage.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.

Responsibilities

Role Overview

We are looking for a seasoned finance professional with approximately 5 to 8 years of experience to support the controlling function for the India business and manufacturing plant.

The position will focus on cost control, financial planning, variance analysis, management reporting, internal financial governance, and business partnering. The role will report to the Head of Controlling and work closely with Accounting, Operations, Manufacturing, Sales, and other business functions.

Key Responsibilities

1. Budgeting, Forecasting & Planning

• Support the annual budgeting process in collaboration with business functions.
• Prepare and maintain monthly/quarterly rolling forecasts.
• Analyze actuals vs. budget/forecast and identify root causes of variances.
• Recommend corrective and preventive actions.

2. Cost & Variance Analysis

• Monitor cost centers and profit centers.
• Manage cost allocation and cost-control initiatives.
• Conduct detailed variance analysis for revenue, operating expenses, and other financial metrics.
• Ensure adherence to budget-control policies.

3. Capital Budgeting & Financial Analysis

• Review and validate CapEx proposals.
• Develop financial models covering ROI, payback period, NPV, IRR, and risk factors.
• Evaluate the financial and operational feasibility of investments.
• Conduct scenario and sensitivity analysis for investment decisions.

4. Management Reporting & Internal Controls

• Support monthly and quarterly management reporting, including P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, and cost reports.
• Strengthen internal controls and ensure compliance with financial policies.
• Coordinate with Accounting during month-end and quarter-end closing.

5. Business Finance Partnership

• Partner with Sales, Operations, Manufacturing, and other functions.
• Provide financial insights for cost optimization and business decisions.
• Support capital investment and process improvement initiatives.
• Advise functional heads on cost structures, profitability, and resource utilization.

6. Process Improvement & Systems

• Drive improvements in budgeting, reporting, and variance-control processes.
• Support ERP/BI/controlling system implementation and upgrades.
• Promote standardization, automation, and data governance.

7. Risk Management & Governance

• Identify financial risks such as cost overruns and margin pressures.
• Develop appropriate mitigation strategies.
• Ensure compliance with financial policies and internal controls.
• Support internal and external audit activities.

Required Qualifications & Skills
