Job summary

Torrent Power in Gujarat seeks a mechanical maintenance engineer to lead preventive and predictive maintenance of gas and steam turbines at a power plant. You will manage a team of technicians and supervisors, plan outages, and ensure compliance with safety standards.

The role requires hands-on experience with GT/ST, rotor and stator work, and optimization of spares inventory. Familiarity with Maximo, SAP, AutoCAD, and permit-to-work procedures is preferred.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with gas and steam turbines, incl. CI/minor and major inspections.
• Experience in preventive, predictive and major/minor maintenance in power plants.
• Knowledge of permit-to-work, JSA/MSRA, BFS.
• Familiar with vibration analysis, NDT is a plus.
• Strong safety awareness and process safety knowledge.
• Ability to lead and develop maintenance teams.
• Experience in budgeting and inventory optimization.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute day-to-day maintenance, outages and breakdown works.

Role & responsibilities

• Preventive, predictive, major and minor maintenance activities on Gas Turbine & Steam Turbine. Rotating and static equipment's/auxiliaries of power plants.
• Compliance of EHS procedures & practices being followed as standard industry guidelines & Company Policy.
• Good knowledge of Permit to work system. Conversant with BFS, Maximo will be added advantage. Conversant with JSA/MSRA.
• Manage team (technician, engineer and contractor staff) with good planning.
• To plan and organize all day-to-day routine maintenance works, breakdown works, and outage works with a team of supervisors & technicians.
• Long Term equipment overhaul planning & maintenance Scheduling, Its execution in line with OEM best Guideline / Best Engineering practices.
• Annual & Long-Term Budget planning.
• Effective Review & management of Spares, Consumables & tools. Optimization of inventory based on industry best practices.
• Assistance in Plant improvements & implementation related to mechanical.
• Trouble shooting of plant equipment as necessary.
• Communication with supplier and equipment OEM as necessary.
• Development of mechanical maintenance technicians & supervisors in line with organization requirement.
• Able to do Condition monitoring and Root cause failure analysis of equipments.
• Able to prepare purchase requisition, carry out technical evaluation of offer and do Indigenous spares development.
• Review Routing services, coordinate service contractor at site & work execution.

Preferred experience:

• Candidate shall have worked in Mechanical Maintenance department in Combined Cycle Power Plant. Siemens Machine with Single shaft experience unit is preferred.
• Hands on Experience with Gas Turbine, Steam Turbine CI/Minor Inspection, HGPI, Major Inspections.
• Excellent in overhauling of Rotating equipments (Pumps, Compressors, Blowers etc) and static equipments (Heat exchangers, valves, pipings etc) maintenance with hands on experience is must.
• Possess basic knowledge of process safety.
• Having knowledge of NDT, Vibration analysis and its evaluation will be added advantage.
• Good Communication and interpersonal skill is required with ability to drive a team.
• Knowledge of software like MS office, SAP, AutoCAD.
