Job description

• Looking for a seasoned counsel in an independent contributor role who shall be responsible for providing end-to-end support on a wide variety of operational, commercial, governance, and regulatory issues. The right candidate shall be responsible for providing strategic advice to leadership across functions and contributing to drive growth strategy.

• Skill and ability to identify risks and explain complex legal issues and requirements to the Company and external stakeholders from time to time.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Administration of a wide variety of Agreements (Drafting/vetting/review/negotiations) including but not limited to employment agreements, distribution agreements, procurement agreements, administration agreements, licensing agreements, marketing agreements, service Agreements, etc. Communicating well across functions to strike a balance between the business and legal needs of the organization. Having exposure to working on high-stakes agreements, transaction documents, T&C’s.
• Working closely and advising on laws about Internet Business, Intermediary Guidelines, Competition Law, Legal Metrology, Data Protection, FEMA guidelines, Labour Laws, Consumer Protection, online and offline distribution business of the company, etc.
• Synchronizing with external stakeholders (consultants, lawyers, etc.) regarding the ongoing Litigation of the Company. Drafting Legal Notices, Replies, pleadings, and other documents in connection with the legal cases of the company or as per the requirements of the Company.
• Provide accurate, timely, and pragmatic legal advice and ensure the team is aligned with business strategy and objectives.
• Advising and suggesting on legal issues related to company business activities, including FDI, customs, brand authorization, IP/trademark violations, etc. Research and analysis of legal issues/matters at hand, preparation of advisory notes.
• Acquiring and monitoring applicable licenses, approvals, and permissions from various authorities, handling queries/notices by Government Authorities as and when required. Further advice on the applicability of various laws on product compliance.
• Develop and periodically review the internal and external policy framework of the Company in alignment with other stakeholders.
• Engage and work closely with external counsels and blend together the advice and inputs from external counsel with in-house advice to offer cost-effective and solution oriented advise to the businesses. Supporting the Customer Service Portfolio and handling any legal issues/matter about it.
• Planning & Execution of Legal strategies. Working along with the brand licensor team on issues affecting the product and technology.
• Ensure record keeping of all the legal documents alongside any other work as assigned from time to time by reporting heads.
