Job summary

AECOM, a global infrastructure leader, seeks an Airfield Ground Lighting (AGL) Expert with 8–10 years of experience for critical airport projects in India. You will plan, design, and specify AGL systems ensuring compliance with ICAO Annex 14 and FAA regulations.

This on-site role requires collaboration with airside teams and stakeholders to deliver reliable lighting solutions. You will lead layout planning, CCR sizing, ducting, and integration with ALCMS, supporting procurement and commissioning

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or related field.
• 8–10 years of professional experience in Airfield Ground Lighting (AGL).
• Mandatory experience in aviation, airport operations, or airside infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, design, and specification of AGL systems including runways, taxiways and apron lighting.
• Develop AGL layout plans, circuiting, CCR sizing, ducting and pit layouts.
• Ensure compliance with ICAO Annex 14, FAA and airport authority standards.
• Collaborate with airside civil, electrical, ATC/ATM, and signage teams for integration with pavement works.
• Coordinate with stakeholders to align AGL with airport development plans.
• Review vendor submittals, interface drawings, and photometric data.
• Provide technical inputs for procurement of AGL fixtures, CCRs and control systems.
• Support airside construction activities, including installation supervision, testing and commissioning.
• Ensure documentation and handover of AGL systems; focus on reliability and safety.

Job Description

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Airfield Ground Lighting (AGL) Expert with 8–10 years of professional experience in the aviation sector. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in the planning, design, and implementation of AGL systems, ensuring compliance with international standards such as ICAO Annex 14, FAA, and airport authority regulations.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, design, and specification of Airfield Ground Lighting (AGL) systems, including runway, taxiway, apron, approach, stop-bar, guidance, and obstruction lighting.
• Develop comprehensive AGL layout plans, circuiting, Constant Current Regulator (CCR) sizing, ducting, and pit layouts.
• Ensure full compliance with ICAO Annex 14, FAA, and relevant airport authority standards.
• Collaborate with airside civil, electrical, ATC/ATM, and airfield signage teams to ensure seamless integration of AGL systems with pavement works, visual aids, and operational requirements.
• Coordinate with stakeholders to align AGL designs with overall airport development plans.
• Review vendor submittals, interface drawings, and photometric performance data.
• Provide technical inputs for the procurement of AGL fixtures, CCRs, and control systems, ensuring compliance with project specifications.
• Provide technical support during airside construction activities, including installation supervision, testing, photometric calibration, and commissioning of AGL systems.
• Ensure proper documentation and operational handover of AGL systems.
• Ensure system reliability, redundancy, and safety, with a focus on compatibility with Airfield Lighting Control & Monitoring Systems (ALCMS) and airport operational protocols.
• Address technical challenges and ensure adherence to safety and quality standards throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or Electronics & Communication Engineering.
• 8–10 years of professional experience, with a strong focus on Airfield Ground Lighting (AGL) systems.
• Mandatory experience in the aviation sector, including familiarity with airport operations and airside infrastructure.

Additional Information

• Strong knowledge of ICAO Annex 14, FAA standards, and airport authority guidelines.
• Familiarity with AGL design tools, CAD software, and simulation tools.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
