Job summary

AECOM is seeking an Airport Systems Specialist in India with 14–16 years of aviation experience and a Master’s degree in Electrical/Electronics/ECE. The role focuses on planning, design, and integration of PBBs, GPUs, PCA, and VDGS for aircraft stands, ensuring compliance with ICAO/IATA standards.

You will lead technical specifications, layouts, and interfaces, coordinating with terminal and apron teams to deliver safe, efficient systems and a smooth project handover.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or Electronics & Communication Engineering.
• 14–16 years of professional experience in the aviation sector.
• Strong knowledge of PBBs, GPUs, PCA systems, and VDGS.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, design, and technical specification of PBBs, GPUs, PCA, and VDGS for aircraft stands.
• Develop equipment layouts, utility requirements, and capacities for seamless integration with terminal architecture and apron operations.
• Ensure compliance with ICAO/IATA and airport authority safety, apron clearances, and operational efficiency.
• Address regulatory guidelines to ensure safety and quality standards.
• Review vendor proposals, technical submittals, interface drawings, and performance data.
• Provide technical inputs for procurement and equipment selection, ensuring alignment with project specs.
• Provide technical support during installation, testing, and commissioning of PBB, GPU, PCA, and VDGS systems.
• Resolve site issues and ensure reliable operation during project handover.
• Collaborate with operations, IT/systems, electrical, and maintenance teams for integration and lifecycle performance.
• Address technical challenges and ensure compatibility with terminal and apron operations.

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced and technically proficient Airport Systems Specialist with 14–16 years of professional experience in the aviation sector. The ideal candidate will have a Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or Electronics & Communication Engineering and a proven track record in the planning, design, and implementation of advanced airport systems, including Passenger Boarding Bridges (PBBs), Ground Power Units (GPU), Pre-Conditioned Air (PCA) systems, and Visual Docking Guidance Systems (VDGS).

Roles & Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, design, and technical specification of Passenger Boarding Bridges (PBBs), Ground Power Units (GPU), Pre-Conditioned Air (PCA) systems, and Visual Docking Guidance Systems (VDGS) for aircraft stands.
• Develop equipment layouts, utility requirements, and capacities, ensuring seamless integration with terminal architecture, airside civil/structural design, and apron operations.
• Ensure compliance with relevant international standards (e.g., ICAO, IATA) and airport authority requirements for safety, apron clearances, aircraft compatibility, and operational efficiency.
• Address regulatory and procedural guidelines to ensure adherence to safety and quality standards.
• Review vendor proposals, technical submittals, interface drawings, and performance data.
• Provide technical inputs for procurement and equipment selection, ensuring alignment with project specifications.
• Provide technical support during installation, testing, and commissioning of PBB, GPU, PCA, and VDGS systems.
• Resolve site issues and ensure reliable operation of all systems during project handover.
• Collaborate with operations, IT/systems, electrical, and maintenance teams to ensure seamless integration, connectivity, and long‑term lifecycle performance.
• Address technical challenges and ensure compatibility with terminal and apron operations.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or Electronics & Communication Engineering.
• 14–16 years of professional experience, with mandatory expertise in the aviation sector.
• Strong knowledge of airport systems, including PBBs, GPUs, PCA systems, and VDGS.

Additional Information

• Proficiency in system design tools, CAD software, and simulation tools for airport systems.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
• Ability to address technical challenges and provide innovative solutions for system integration and operational efficiency.
• Strong analytical skills to ensure compliance with safety, quality, and performance standards.
