Job summary

Lifesight, Bengaluru, is seeking an AI Software Engineer with QA automation expertise to validate and automate testing of web apps, APIs, and services. The role involves handling unfamiliar codebases, improving test coverage, and ensuring reliability across production systems.

You will design test strategies, build automation frameworks, and leverage AI-assisted engineering workflows to accelerate quality. 2-4 years in QA or software testing with strong debugging skills is preferred.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of experience in QA Automation, Test Engineering, or Software Engineering.
• Strong understanding of software testing fundamentals, API testing, regression testing, and defect management.
• Hands-on experience with tools such as Playwright, Selenium, Cypress, or Postman.
• Proficiency in Python or JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Experience with REST APIs, Git, and version control workflows.
• Familiarity with AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, Codex, etc.) and their use in engineering workflows.
• Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and own issues through resolution.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute manual and automated tests for web applications, APIs, and backend services.
• Build and maintain test automation frameworks and improve regression coverage.
• Use AI tools for code analysis, test generation, refactoring, and documentation, and verify all outputs before shipping.
• Investigate production issues using logs, traces, metrics, and reproductions.
• Work closely with Product, Engineering, and QA teams to resolve defects and improve system reliability.
• Maintain clear test reports, troubleshooting notes, and technical documentation.

About the Role

We are looking for an AI Software Engineer with experience in software testing and automation and hands-on exposure to AI-assisted engineering workflows.

This role involves working on unfamiliar codebases, diagnosing complex issues, improving test coverage, and supporting production systems. We are looking for someone who can independently investigate problems, validate fixes, and take ownership of reliability and quality.

Key Responsibilities
