Job summary

Optum India is seeking a senior AI/ML engineer to design, develop, and deploy scalable AI solutions for complex business problems. You will own the full model lifecycle, from data prep to production deployment, and drive ML pipelines for reliability and performance.

You'll work with product and engineering teams to translate requirements into AI-driven solutions, integrate models into enterprise apps, and lead MLOps practices including monitoring and retraining to sustain governance and impact.

Qualifications

• Graduate degree or equivalent experience.
• Experience with NLP, LLMs or Generative AI use cases.
• Experience building enterprise-grade AI systems with governance requirements.
• Experience mentoring junior engineers or owning small modules/projects.
• Familiarity with Spark or Ray distributed computing.
• Knowledge of Responsible AI practices including fairness and bias mitigation.

Responsibilities

• Implement and manage MLOps with CI/CD, monitoring, retraining, and version control.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and improve model performance in production.
• Contribute to reusable frameworks, libraries, and engineering best practices.
• Communicate designs and outcomes clearly to stakeholders.
• Stay updated with emerging AI/ML technologies and apply them to drive innovation.

• Design, develop, and deploy scalable end-to-end AI/ML solutions for complex business problems
• Own the full model lifecycle including data preparation, feature engineering, model development, evaluation, and production deployment
• Build and optimize ML pipelines and workflows for scalability, reliability, and performance
• Develop advanced AI solutions using techniques such as NLP, deep learning, predictive modeling, and Generative AI
• Collaborate with product, engineering, and business teams to translate requirements into AI-driven solutions
• Integrate AI/ML models into enterprise applications and production systems
• Implement and manage MLOps practices including CI/CD, monitoring, retraining, and version control
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and continuously improve model performance in production environments
• Contribute to reusable frameworks, libraries, and engineering best practices
• Communicate technical designs, trade-offs, and outcomes clearly to stakeholders
• Stay updated with emerging AI/ML technologies and apply them to drive innovation

Required Qualifications

• Graduate degree or equivalent experience

• Experience building enterprise-grade AI systems with strong reliability and governance requirements
• Experience mentoring junior engineers or owning small modules/projects
• Familiarity with distributed computing frameworks such as Spark or Ray
• Knowledge of Responsible AI practices including fairness, explainability, and bias mitigation
