Job summary

Valtech is seeking a Commercetool Backend Lead Developer in Bangalore, combining frontend and backend prowess to craft AI‑driven experiences. You’ll blend ReactJS/Next.js with Python FastAPI, integrating AI workflows, LLMs, and data pipelines.

You’ll design scalable architectures, KPIs, and dashboards while collaborating across agile teams. You bring 8+ years of experience, a growth mindset, and a passion for turning complex AI concepts into business value.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in backend/front end or AI-driven digital experiences.
• Experience with AI workflows including RAG and LLM‑driven integrations.
• Frontend development experience with ReactJS/Next.js for AI‑driven interfaces.
• Strong backend experience in Python with FastAPI; knowledge of NodeJS/NestJS helpful.
• Ability to design scalable data architectures and KPI dashboards with SQL & Python.

Responsibilities

• Lead frontend/backend AI solution development using ReactJS, Next.js and Python FastAPI.
• Build and optimize AI pipelines with embeddings, RAG, and offline/private AI setups.
• Work with vector databases like OpenSearch or Chroma for similarity search and RAG-based solutions.
• Evaluate model performance and reduce hallucinations; ensure secure, scalable APIs.
• Collaborate across disciplines in an Agile, consulting context to deliver business value.

Role & Responsibilities

• Strong experience in frontend development using ReactJS and Next.js Solid backend engineering skills in Python (FastAPI) with working knowledge of NodeJS or NestJS
• Hands‑on experience with AI and LLM‑based systems, including embeddings, intelligent analysis, and private or offline AI setups
• Experience with vector databases such as OpenSearch or Chroma for similarity search and RAG‑based solutions
• Practical exposure to model evaluation, response accuracy tuning, and hallucination reduction techniques
• Strong understanding of data handling using PostgreSQL and object storage platforms such as Azure Blob Storage, Azure Data Lake, or MinIO for structured and unstructured data
• Ability to analyze data, build KPIs, and derive actionable insights using SQL and Python
• Familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines, security best practices, and enterprise‑grade system design
• Strong problem‑solving mindset with the ability to translate complex technical solutions into measurable business value

Must Have

• Experience with AI workflows such as RAG, agent‑based systems, LLM‑driven integrations, and scalable AI pipelines
• Exposure to private or offline AI setups, including local LLM deployments
• Strong backend experience using Python with FastAPI for building AI services and APIs
• Frontend exposure using ReactJS / Next.js for AI‑driven user interfaces
• Good understanding of PostgreSQL and object storage platforms such as Azure Blob Storage, Azure Data Lake, or MinIO
• Experience building KPIs, dashboards, and insights using SQL and Python
• Background in Retail, Digital, or large‑scale enterprise platforms
• Ability to explain complex AI and technical concepts in a simple, business‑friendly manner
