Qualifications

• 3–5 years' AI/Software/Data/ML engineering experience with solid Python and SQL.
• Hands-on experience developing AI/ML or Generative AI solutions, with knowledge of prompt engineering, RAG and AI agents.
• Experience taking solutions from development or proof of concept through to deployment, with testing, reliability and production considerations.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals, including Git, CI/CD, automated testing and code quality.
• Curiosity, adaptability and strong collaboration skills, with the ability to learn emerging technologies and apply them pragmatically.

AI Engineer - Finance Technology

We are seeking a visionary Finance AI Engineer to join our Finance Systems and Technology team. As part of Flutter's Finance AI and Automation strategy, you'll apply strong technical expertise and artificial intelligence within financial systems and data platforms, working cross-functionally across Finance, Data and Engineering teams. In this role, you'll design and embed AI-enabled development practices, help teams adopt AI‑assisted ways of working safely and effectively, and shape how our finance function leverages cutting‑edge AI technologies. OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE

We're looking for an AI Engineer to join our Finance Technology team and help us explore and apply emerging AI capabilities across our technology landscape.

The role sits at the intersection of AI and software engineering, working with engineering and business teams to identify opportunities where AI can improve how we build, deliver and use technology.

You'll have the opportunity to work across a range of AI use cases and technologies, while contributing to the adoption of practical, effective AI‑assisted development practices within Finance Technology.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

1. Build and apply AI solutions:

• Design, develop and experiment with AI/ML and Generative AI solutions, including LLM‑powered applications, prompt engineering, RAG and AI‑assisted development use cases.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and translate them into practical solutions for business and engineering needs.
  

2. Engineer solutions for production:

• Apply strong software engineering practices to take solutions from development and proof of concept through to deployment.
• Contribute to testing, CI/CD, monitoring and continuous improvement of AI‑enabled applications and workflows.
  

3. Enable adoption across Finance Technology:

• Work with engineering, data and business teams to develop reusable approaches, prompts, templates and standards that support effective AI adoption.
• Share knowledge, collaborate on technical challenges and help teams apply AI consistently and responsibly.
  

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

Essential Requirements

• 3–5 years' experience in AI Engineering, Software Engineering, Data Engineering, ML Engineering or a related technical discipline, with strong foundations in Python and SQL.
• Hands‑on experience developing AI/ML or Generative AI solutions, with practical knowledge of areas such as prompt engineering, RAG and AI agents.
• Experience taking technical solutions from development or proof of concept through to deployment, with an understanding of testing, reliability and production considerations.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals, including Git, CI/CD, automated testing and code quality.
• Ability to assess and improve AI‑enabled solutions, with an understanding of how to evaluate their quality, reliability and performance.
• Curiosity, adaptability and strong collaboration skills, with the ability to learn emerging technologies and apply them pragmatically to business problems.

Desirable Skills

• Experience with Databricks or other enterprise data and AI platforms.
• Experience with Oracle Fusion, Oracle EPM, Retool or similar enterprise technology platforms.
• Familiarity with vector databases, MCP, agentic workflows or AI evaluation approaches.
• Experience with orchestration frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, LlamaIndex or similar.
• Exposure to AWS, Azure or other cloud platforms.
• Experience working within Finance, FinTech or other regulated environments.
