Job summary

Luxoft is seeking a senior cloud engineer with 13+ years in AI and software engineering to support FIC cloud migrations on GCP. You will design, build, and deploy enterprise-scale AI applications, integrate LLMs, and drive modern cloud infrastructure with Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes, and Observability tools.

The role requires strong Python/Java development, API/microservices expertise, and experience with BigQuery and PostgreSQL.

Qualifications

Project description

Developing cloud-based compliance state-of-the-art archive products to archive and retain real-time communications data in line with internal and external regulatory requirements. The product is developed in-house in an agile development setup based on business requirements from multiple stakeholder parties. By employing continuous development and deployment principles, the team is aiming to transition from project to product management to support the bank with robust compliance archive solutions for the next decade. For a large global investment bank, we are looking for GCP-qualified cloud engineers to help with the FIC (fixed income and currencies) cloud migrations under Project Cirrus. Knowledge of Financial Services/FIC would be great, but the primary skills we need are in building, migrating, and deploying applications to GCP, Terraform module coding, Google infrastructure, cloud-native services such as GCE, GKE, CloudSQL/Postgres, logging and monitoring, etc., & good written and spoken English, as we would like these engineers to help with knowledge transfer to our existing development & support teams. We would like to place people alongside the engineers they'll be working with in the bank.

Responsibilities

• Key Responsibilities & Skills and Experience
• Proven experience (13+ years) in an AI Engineer role,demonstratingsuccessful application of AI skills and advanced techniques to solve complex, real-world problems, witha track recordof leading technical initiatives.
• Extensive hands-on software engineering experience, including the design and delivery of enterprise-scale distributed applications and production-grade AI or Generative AI solutions.
• Deep expertise in Python or Java engineering skills and practical experience with API, microservices and asynchronous application design; experience with FastAPI, Spring Boot or comparable frameworks is beneficial.
• Strong experience with BigQuery and PostgreSQL, cloud-native architectures, Git-based development, CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes, infrastructure as code, observability and automated testing; practical knowledge of GitHub or Azure DevOps, Terraform and OpenTelemetry is beneficial.
• Practical expertise in LLM applications, AI agents, RAG architectures, vector databases, semantic or hybrid search, model evaluation and LLMOps, with hands-on experience in relevant orchestration, evaluation and observability tools.
• Solid grounding in machine learning, feature engineering, model explainability and analytical modelling, using relevant Python ML libraries.
• Strong understanding of financial markets and investment products is highly desirable, with experience in Investment Banking / Treasury.
• Strong engineering mindset and ownership mentality, with sound judgement and the ability to structure ambiguity, solve complex problems, make pragmatic technical decisions and balance delivery speed, quality, risk, maintainability and long-term scalability.
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to understand business needs, translate them into clear technical choices, manage expectations, influence decisions and build trusted relationships across business, product, technology and control functions.

Must have

• Strong programming skills in Java (preferred), with experience in Python, Scala a plus.
• Experience developing back end components including real time report generation, batch processing and integration with downstream systems
