Job summary

Santriya Technologies is seeking an AI-Enabled Instrumentation Engineer to design, maintain and optimize instrumentation and control systems using AI-assisted diagnostics and documentation intelligence, while preserving deterministic engineering, cybersecurity and functional-safety controls.

You will be assigned one or more company products, client solutions or operational services, with the approved product documentation as the source of truth.

Qualifications

• Experience developing and reviewing instrument index, datasheets and loop diagrams.
• Ability to select instruments, analyzers and control valves per process needs.
• Experience using AI analytics to detect trends, calibration drift or failures.
• Familiarity with PLC/DCS/SIS configuration and commissioning.

Responsibilities

• Develop/review instrument index, datasheets, I/O, loop diagrams, control narratives, cause-and-effect and hook-up documentation.
• Select and specify instruments, analyzers, control valves and interfaces based on process requirements.
• Use AI analytics to identify anomalous trends, calibration drift or likely failure patterns from validated data.
• Support PLC/DCS/SIS configuration, testing, commissioning and troubleshooting within change control.
• Coordinate with process, electrical, mechanical, maintenance and vendor teams.
• Maintain calibration, proof-test and maintenance strategies using risk and criticality.
• Ensure AI recommendations never override interlocks, trips or safety-instrumented functions without formal engineering approval.
• Document root causes, changes, lessons and reusable troubleshooting knowledge.
• AI-enabled ways of working: Use approved GenAI copilots, enterprise search/RAG, analytics and workflow agents.
• Keep prompts, outputs and automated actions within approved data-access, confidentiality and retention rules.
• Correct inaccurate summaries, classifications or recommendations before they become customer, operational or system records.
• Feed recurring AI errors, knowledge gaps and process friction into product, documentation and control improvement.
• Human accountability: AI is a copilot, not the accountable decision-maker.
• The role holder remains responsible for judgement, privacy, security and appropriate escalation.

• Product & documentation operating model: You will be assigned one or more company products, client solutions or operational services.
• The approved product documentation, SOPs, policies, process maps, knowledge articles, release notes, controls, scripts and AI runbooks are the source of truth.
• Use only approved enterprise AI tools to retrieve, summarize, draft, classify, prioritize or automate work.
• Validate material AI outputs against current documentation and authoritative system data, record exceptions, and elevate conflicts or missing guidance.
• Do not invent product features, prices, customer entitlements, engineering limits, regulatory positions or safety instructions.
