Job summary

TELUS Digital is seeking an AI Developer with expertise in Java and Gen AI to join our hybrid India team. You will work on AI-enabled microservices, bring real-world AI delivery experience, and collaborate across global offices to build scalable digital solutions.

You will apply Java 8/17+, Python or Node.js with Spring Boot, and AWS to craft end-to-end intelligent platforms, ensuring security, performance, and reliability in production systems.

This is a hybrid role. This model requires the ability to work in a hybrid mode from our office in Noida/Bengaluru/Hyderabad (4times/ week). AI Developer (Expertise in Java along with Gen AI)

Responsibilities

• Must have overall 5+ years of experience in the IT Domain
• Primary Skills: Java (8/17+), Python or Node.js with Spring Boot microservices on AWS — plus hands-on AI in real delivery, either AI-assisted development (Amazon Kiro, Cursor, Amazon Q) or applied GenAI (AI agents, RAG, MCP servers, Bedrock). Secondary Skills: Docker, Kubernetes, Kafka and CI/CD. Good to have: migration and modernization experience, cloud security and compliance, and Telecom domain exposure.
• Build agentic systems: tool/function calling, multi-step orchestration, MCP servers, browser and workflow automation, and end‑to‑end agent observability.
• Own the AI production concerns most teams skip: AI gateway, model tiering and routing for cost control, semantic caching, rate limiting, latency reduction (distillation, batching), prompt‑injection defence, PII discovery and masking, bias and toxicity screening.
• Microservices architecture in production service decomposition, REST/GraphQL API design, versioning, resilience patterns, multi-tenancy and data isolation.
• AWS at depth compute (EC2, ECS/EKS, Lambda), storage (S3), messaging (SQS), IAM, and observability (CloudWatch).
• Containers & orchestration Docker and Kubernetes in production (deployments, services, manifests, scaling).
• CI/CD ownership — Jenkins, in production service decomposition, REST/Graph QL API design, versioning, resilience patterns, multi-tenancy and data isolation.
• Infrastructure as Code — CloudFormation/CDK or equivalent.
• Event-driven systems — Apache Kafka or AWS-native messaging; retries, idempotency, dead‑letter handling.
• Databases — a relational store (PostgreSQL, Oracle, MySQL, SQL Server) and a NoSQL store (MongoDB, DynamoDB); comfortable with query tuning.
