Job summary

JU Agri Sciences Pvt. Ltd. in Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh, is seeking an Analytical Chemist to develop, validate and optimize analytical methods for active ingredients in agrochemical products, ensuring compliance with GLP, NABL and regulatory guidelines.

You will operate and maintain HPLC/HG and LC-MS instruments, draft SOPs and MVRs, transfer methods to QC labs, and support regulatory dossiers with reliable chemical data for domestic and international registrations.

Qualifications

• MSc in Chemistry or related field with strong academics.
• 3–4 years hands-on R&D or analytical lab experience in agrochemicals.
• Knowledge of chromatographic separation and data requirements (CIBRC, OECD, EPA).

Responsibilities

• Develop, validate, and optimize analytical methods for active ingredients and impurities in agrochemical products.
• Design validation protocols per regulatory guidelines and ensure traceability.

Job description

Role & responsibilities

1. Method Development & Validation

• Develop, optimize, and validate analytical methods for active ingredient assay, related impurities, and degradation products in technical and formulated agrochemical products (EC, SC, WP, GR, CS, ZC, WG, SE, SL etc.)
• Design and execute method validation protocols in accordance with regulatory guidelines.

2. Instrument Operation & Maintenance

• Operate, calibrate, and perform routine troubleshooting on high-end analytical instruments:
  • Chromatography: HPLC, UHPLC, GC-FID, and GC-MS, etc.
  • Spectroscopy & Wet Analysis: LC-MS/MS, ICP-OES/MS, AAS, FT-IR, Particle Size Analyser, UV-Vis, etc.

3. Documentation & Compliance

• Maintain accurate, real-time entries in physical laboratory notebooks.
• Draft Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), method validation reports (MVRs), and Certificates of Analysis (COAs).
• Ensure strict adherence to GLP (Good Laboratory Practice), NABL, and EHS (Environment, Health, and Safety) protocols.

4. Cross-Functional R&D Support

• Collaborate with product formulation teams to characterize intermediates and scale-up batches.
• Support the transfer of analytical methods from R&D to the plant Quality Control (QC) labs and external toll manufacturing sites during new product rollouts.
• Support regulatory dossiers by generating reliable chemical data required for domestic (CIBRC) or international product registrations.

Preferred candidate profile

• Education: M.Sc. (Chemistry / Analytical Chemistry / Organic Chemistry / Agrochemicals) with a strong academic record.

• Experience: 3 to 4 years of hands‑on R&D or analytical lab experience specifically within the agrochemical sector.

• Technical Competencies:
  • Good practical knowledge of chromatographic separation science (HPLC/GC).
  • Familiarity with sample preparation techniques
  • Understanding of Indian and global agrochemical registration data requirements (CIBRC, OECD, EPA).
