Job description

• Supervise daily agricultural and farm activities.
• Plan and monitor sowing, planting, irrigation, fertilization, weeding, and harvesting activities.
• Monitor crop growth and identify pests, diseases, nutrient deficiencies, and other crop-related issues.
• Ensure proper use of fertilizers, pesticides, seeds, equipment, and other agricultural inputs.
• Supervise and allocate work to farm laborers and field workers.
• Maintain records of crop activities, labor, inputs, production, and field observations.
• Coordinate with agriculture officers, agronomists, vendors, and farm management as required.
• Ensure compliance with farm safety, quality, and environmental practices.
• Monitor irrigation schedules and water usage.
• Inspect fields regularly and take corrective action when required.
• Assist in estimating crop yields and production requirements.
• Ensure proper maintenance and cleanliness of agricultural tools and equipment.
• Prepare daily/weekly field reports for management.
• Train workers on proper agricultural practices and workplace safety.
• Support implementation of modern and sustainable farming techniques.

Required Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelors degree in Agriculture, Horticulture, Agronomy, or a related field.
• Practical knowledge of crop production and farm management.
• Experience supervising agricultural workers is preferred.
• Basic knowledge of fertilizers, pesticides, irrigation, and pest/disease management.
• Good communication and team-management skills.
• Ability to work outdoors and manage field operations.
• Basic computer and record-keeping skills.
