Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical / chemical / Glass Engineering.
• MBA or Project Management certification preferred.
• 25+ years of experience in manufacturing/project execution.
• Mandatory exposure to Solar Glass / Float Glass Plant commissioning.
• Experience with international technology providers.
• Strong techno-commercial acumen and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the complete lifecycle of the Solar Glass Greenfield Project: feasibility, design validation, engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning.
• Drive selection and implementation of Solar Glass manufacturing technology and liaise with international technology providers.
• Prepare and monitor detailed project schedules; coordinate civil, mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation works.
• Lead plant commissioning, trial production, and performance stabilisation, addressing operational issues.
• Control CAPEX budgets, negotiate with vendors, and monitor progress vs. physical milestones.
• Ensure compliance with environmental, safety, and statutory requirements; coordinate govt approvals.
• Foster a cross-functional project team and manage key personnel and contractors; report to leadership.

Position Overview

GrowthSpirit Trading Pvt. Ltd. is setting up a 300 TPD Solar Glass Manufacturing Plant and is seeking a highly experienced and result-driven Head – Solar Glass Project to lead the complete Greenfield project execution from concept to commissioning.

The role demands a seasoned techno-commercial leader with hands-on exposure in Solar Glass Plant commissioning, strong project governance capabilities, and the ability to manage multi-disciplinary teams across engineering, procurement, construction, and operations.

Key Responsibilities

1. End-to-End Project Leadership

• Lead the complete lifecycle of the Solar Glass Greenfield Project:
  • Feasibility & design validation
  • Engineering & technology finalisation
  • Procurement & vendor management
  • Construction & installation
  • Trial runs and commissioning
• Ensure project delivery within defined timelines, budget, and quality standards

2. Technology & Technical Oversight

• Drive selection and implementation of Solar Glass manufacturing technology
• Liaise with international technology providers and OEMs
• Ensure optimal configuration of:
  • Melting furnace
  • Float line
  • Coating & tempering systems
• Validate technical specifications, layouts, and energy efficiency parameters

3. Project Planning & Execution

• Prepare and monitor detailed project schedules (PERT/CPM)
• Ensure readiness across:
  • Civil works
  • Mechanical erection
  • Electrical & instrumentation systems
• Manage contractors, EPC partners, and consultants

4. Commissioning & Stabilisation (Critical Requirement)

• Lead plant commissioning, trial production, and performance stabilisation
• Troubleshoot operational issues in:
  • Furnace operations
  • Glass forming
  • Coating/tempering lines
• Achieve rated capacity utilisation (300 TPD) within defined time

5. Commercial & Cost Control

• Control CAPEX budgets and cost optimisation initiatives
• Negotiate with vendors and contractors for cost-effective solutions
• Monitor financial progress vs. physical progress

6. Compliance & Statutory Management

• Ensure compliance with:
  • Environmental regulations
  • Factory & labour laws
  • Safety norms and ESG standards
• Coordinate approvals with govt. authorities (India/Oman SEZ, if applicable)
• Build and lead a cross-functional project team
• Identify and onboard:
  • Key technical personnel
  • Plant operations team (pre-commissioning stage)
• Foster strong safety culture and project discipline

8. Stakeholder Management

• Report to Board/Promoters
• Coordinate with:
  • Investors
  • Consultants
  • Technology partners
• Provide periodic project MIS and dashboards

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

• Project completion within time & budget
• Successful commissioning and stabilisation of plant
• Achieving 300 TPD operational capacity
• CAPEX adherence and cost savings
• Compliance with safety and environmental standards
• Vendor performance and contract efficiency

Qualifications & Experience

Educational Qualification

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical / chemical / Glass Engineering
