Job summary

Acumen 360 in Ahmedabad, India, seeks a senior procurement leader to manage Direct Material and CAPEX purchasing and cost estimation across the business. Lead strategic procurement plans and implement standard processes to cut lead times and costs.

You will act as a commodity expert for Steel and non-ferrous metals, manage CAPEX, forecast pricing, and drive long-term Direct Material strategy with internal stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Overall responsibility for Purchasing (Direct Material and CAPEX) and Cost Estimating across the business.
• Develops strategic plans for efficient procurement and translates them into standard processes to minimise lead time and cost.
• Commodity expert of Steel & Non-ferrous metals (Copper, Brass, Bronze, Zinc, Nickel).
• Expertise in CAPEX.
• Evaluate challenges faced by the business and mitigate risks while developing opportunities.
• Contribute to overall business strategy and annual budget process.
• Take ownership of the purchasing policy, guidelines and associated documents.
• Initiate and develop creative procurement processes (eProcurement).
• Manage commodity pricing and forecasting.
• Assist SBU Heads in developing long-term Direct Material strategy.
• Exposure to sourcing various Raw material grades used in Steel and Auto industries.
• Evaluate supplier capacity and capability.
• Negotiate contract terms with key suppliers to ensure value for money and quality.
• Craft negotiation strategies and close deals with optimal terms.
• Analyse market scenarios for different commodities.
• Awareness of various Raw material grades and standards used in Copper/Brass industries.
• Review key performance metrics and monitor performance against goals and budget.
• Mentor and groom high-potential employees for career growth.
• Monitor performance of department staff and take corrective actions.

• Evaluate the challenges faced by the business and take action to mitigate risks and develop opportunities.
• Contribute to overall business strategy and annual budget process.
• Take ownership of the purchasing policy, guidelines and any associated documents.
• Initiate and develop, creative and innovative procurement processes (eProcurement).
• Manage commodity pricing and forecasting.
• Assists the SBU Heads in developing a strategy for long-term for Direct Material.
• Exposure to source various Raw material grades used in Steel and Auto industries.
• Evaluate supplier capacity and capability.
• Responsible for managing relationships and negotiating with key suppliers at a senior and strategic level.
• Negotiate contract terms with key suppliers to ensure value for money, quality standards and delivery terms with technical and operational input from stakeholders.
• Craft negotiation strategies and close deals with optimal terms.
• Analyse market scenario for different commodities.
• Awareness of various Raw material grades and standard used in Copper/Brass industry.
• Reviews the key performance metrics of the function on periodic basis and intervene as and when necessary.
• Monitors performance of the function against set goals and against the budget on a periodic basis
• Mentors and grooms high-potential employees, to ensure their career growth and succession readiness for key positions in the department.
• Monitors the performance of employees within the department and take actions wherever necessary.
