The Amatriot Group is seeking a Sr AFSIM Engineer to lead M&S efforts for NSWC Crane. You will design, implement, and extend AFSIM-based solutions for EW/EMSO, guiding junior engineers and interfacing with government stakeholders.

You will architect complex simulation scenarios, integrate AFSIM with other tools, and deliver technical reports and briefings on mission analyses, while working on-site at Crane, Indiana.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of modeling and simulation experience with AFSIM.
• AFSIM model development experience.
• Active Secret clearance; ability to obtain Security+ within 60 days.

Responsabilités

• Lead the design, development, and implementation of custom AFSIM solutions to support mission analysis and system evaluation.
• Serve as a technical lead for AFSIM-based efforts, providing guidance to junior engineers and analysts.
• Develop and extend custom models, behaviors, and plugins within AFSIM to meet evolving mission requirements.

Position Overview

The Amatriot Group is seeking a Senior AFSIM Engineer to support Modeling & Simulation (M&S) efforts at Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Crane. This role is focused on developing, customizing, and leading AFSIM-based solutions in support of Electronic Warfare (EW) and Electromagnetic Spectrum Operations (EMSO).

This is not a user-level role—the ideal candidate will serve as a technical leader, driving the development of advanced simulation architectures, custom models, and mission‑level analysis capabilities. The position requires strong engineering judgment, hands‑on AFSIM development expertise, and the ability to lead small teams and interface directly with government stakeholders.

Security Clearance: Secret

Location: Crane, IN

Job Type: Full‑Time

Target Salary Range*: $120,000-165,000

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in modeling and simulation, with direct AFSIM development experience.
• Proven ability to develop and customize AFSIM models (not just execute simulations).
• Experience serving in a team lead or technical leadership capacity.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or related technical field.
• Strong programming skills (e.g., C++, Python, or similar).
• Experience supporting DoD programs, ideally within EW, EMSO, or intelligence domains.
• Active Secret clearance required; TS or higher strongly preferred.
• Must be willing to obtain Security+ certification within 60 days of start.
• Ability to work on‑site in Crane, IN and collaborate in a classified environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance.
• Deep familiarity with AFSIM architecture, scripting, and plugin development.
• Experience integrating AFSIM with mission‑level or constructive simulation environments.
• Knowledge of electronic warfare, RF systems, or spectrum operations.
• Experience with MBSE tools (e.g., SysML, Cameo, MagicDraw).
• Strong ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
