Job summary

Honeywell Technologies seeks an experienced Project Engineer to drive Advanced Process Control and Plant-wide Optimizer initiatives, leading design, modeling, installation, and post-audit activities. You will train onsite users and collaborate with Customer Support and R&D to resolve APC issues.

Required background includes 8+ years in refining/petrochemical MMM, chemical engineering foundations, and hands-on experience with APC, DCS, and RTDB technologies.

Qualifications

• Has at least 8+ years of experience in refining/petrochemical MMM industry.
• Background in Chemical Engineering principles and operations.
• Knowledge of regulatory control and advanced control.
• Understands optimization principles; experience in global optimization is advantageous.
• Good communication and writing skills.
• Knowledge of APC/Plant wide Optimizer, DCS and real-time database technologies.
• Good team player with ability to maintain customer relationships.

Responsibilities

• Execute Advanced Process Control/Plant wide Optimizer projects from assessment to post-audit.
• Implement APC/Plant wide Optimizer/Control Performance Monitor technologies as Lead Consultant/Engineer.
• Perform studies and provide user training on APC/Plant wide Optimizer.
• Review and adjust controller economics and variables to meet objectives.
• Identify and modify controller configurations; tune regulatory loops in DCS.
• Lead cross-functional teams to resolve APC/Plant wide Optimizer issues.
• Support Sales/Marketing to grow APC licenses and services.
• Support and train junior personnel.

Job Description:

The Project Engineer I/Project Engineer II/Advance Proj. engr (APC/Optimization)will support the lead to implement Advanced Process Control/Plant wide Optimizer projects and assist in onsite user training as necessary. The candidate should have a very strong career interest in Advanced Process Control/Plant wide Optimizer work.

Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Therolewill have a broad set of responsibilities encompassing the following:

• Execute Advanced Process Control/Plant wide Optimizer projects including assessment, kick-off, pre-test, plant test, design, modeling, configuration, installation, commissioning, and post-audit.
• Implement RMPCT Advanced Process Control/Plant wide Optimizer/Control Performance Monitor technologies as Lead Consultant/Engineer
• Perform/Participate in Advanced Process Control/Plant wide Optimizer studies, proof of concepts/trial evaluation and provide user training.
• Review the economic targets for the Advanced Process Controllers, suggest and incorporate necessary changes, to provide the right direction to the controllers. This may be required to incorporate the new economic indicators, if any, and make the controller to constantly work towards the current economic objectives.
• Identify, advise, and incorporate modifications to the controller configuration, in terms of proposing addition of new variables/ constraints, deletion of the redundant variables, wherever found necessary.
• Identify faulty regulatory control loops in the system (DCS level) and carryout tuning of existing regulatory controller at Distributed control systems.
• Lead cross function teams such as the Customer Support and R&D to resolve Advanced Process Control/Plant wide Optimizer issues.
• Support Sales and Marketing to grow Advanced Process Control/Plant wide Optimizer licenses and services business.
• Support and train junior personnel

Qualifications

YOU MUST HAVE

• Has a at least 8+ years of experience in refining/petrochemical, MMM industry.
• Has a background in Chemical Engineering principles and operations.
• Knowledge of regulatory control and advanced control.
• Understands optimization principles.Experience in implementing global optimization programs is advantages.
• Good communication and writing skills.
• Knowledge of Advanced Process Control/Plant wide Optimizer, DCS and real-time database technologies.
• Good team player. Strong ability to maintain good working relationship with customers.

WE VALUE

• Demonstrated project experience implementing commercial off-the-shelf software for APC such as DMC3/DMC Plus, SMOC, PACE, ROMeo.
• Experience in deploying APC or maintenance management strategies in an operating company.
• Candidates having experience in plant operations.
• Experience in plant startup & commissioning
• Configuration experience working on control systems, DCS / PLC / Safety Systems.
• Advanced post graduate degree in a technical discipline.
