Job summary
Invesco in Hyderabad, India, is seeking a Data Governance professional to help implement governance strategies and maintain data quality across Investments, Distribution, and Corporate domains. You will collaborate with Data Platform and Architecture teams to apply standards and develop data management capabilities.
The role emphasizes working with data stewards, performing quality analyses, and documenting governance processes.
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of experience in Data Governance, Data Management, Data Quality, Data Engineering, or related fields.
- Fundamental knowledge of data governance concepts, frameworks, and data quality principles.
- Exposure to IDQ, EDC, Axon, MANTA or similar tools.
- Familiarity with Power BI or Tableau for reporting/visualization.
- Understanding of data lifecycle management and data modeling basics.
Responsibilities
- Support the implementation of Data Governance strategies and frameworks and assist in developing data management capabilities.
- Collaborate with Data Platform, Data Architecture, and other teams to apply standards and governance frameworks.
- Assist Data Domain teams in building data products by applying governance principles and validating data quality.
- Develop working knowledge of enterprise data governance tools such as IDQ, Axon, EDC, and MANTA.
- Work with data stewards, technical teams, and business analysts to understand requirements and support governance solution development.
- Assist in performing data quality analyses and prepare reports to evaluate data quality metrics and rules.
- Identify and resolve data quality and governance issues; follow established standards and look for process improvements.

- Support the implementation of Data Governance strategies and frameworks by assisting in the development and maintenance of data management capabilities such as Data Quality and Metadata Management.
- Collaborate with Data Platform, Data Architecture, and other capability teams to learn and apply technical standards, processes, and governance frameworks.
- Assist Data Domain teams in building and maintaining data products (e.g., Investments, Distribution, Corporate) by applying governance principles and supporting data quality validation activities.
- Develop working knowledge of enterprise data governance tools such as Informatica Data Quality (IDQ). Axon, Enterprise Data Catalog (EDC) and MANTA.
- Work closely with data stewards, technical teams, and business analysts to understand business requirements and support data quality and governance solution development.
- Assist in performing data quality analysis and preparing reports that help data stewards and business teams evaluate data quality metrics and business rules.
- Identification, analysis, Implementation of DQ Rules and resolution of data quality and governance issues at intermediatory level.
- Follow established data governance standards, processes, and best practices in daily activities while identifying opportunities for process improvements and automation.
- Demonstrate strong attention to detail, eagerness to learn, and adaptability in a dynamic business and technology environment.
- Build knowledge of investment management business processes, data flows, and common data quality challenges affecting operations.
- 3-5 years of experience in Data Governance, Data Management, Data Quality, Data Engineering, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of data lifecycle management and exposure to at least one data management discipline such as Metadata Management, Data Quality Management, Data Governance, Data Integration, or Master Data Management.
- Fundamental knowledge of Data Governance concepts, frameworks, and data quality principles.
- Exposure to data governance and data quality tools such as Informatica IDQ, EDC, Axon, MANTA, or similar technologies.
- Familiarity with reporting and visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms.
- Basic understanding of data modeling concepts and relational databases.
- Exposure to cloud data platforms, data lakes, or modern data architecture is desirable.
- Basic knowledge of cloud technologies such as AWS, Snowflake, or other data warehousing platforms is preferred.
- Working knowledge of SQL and data analysis techniques; exposure to Python or other scripting languages is an added advantage.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills with a willingness to learn and grow in the Data Governance domain.
- Strong team player with the ability to work effectively under guidance while progressively taking ownership of assigned tasks.
- Demonstrated interest and enthusiasm for Data Governance, Data Quality, and Data Management practices.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills with a willingness to learn and apply new concepts.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey information to team members and stakeholders.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to accurately document and communicate technical and business requirements.
- Ability to identify issues, understand their impact, and elevate appropriately to senior team members or Data Governance Managers.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to use commonly available tools such as PowerPoint, Visio, or similar applications to create process flows, data flow diagrams, and documentation.
- Willingness to learn new technologies, tools, and business processes in a dynamic environment.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
- Graduate Degree in computer science or relevant experience in the technology
