We are looking for an Advanced Application Engineer who will play a crucial role in supporting our technical and sales teams by providing exper,se in chemical engineering applications. These applications span across various domains of the industry solving
customer problems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in chemical processes and will be responsible for understanding customer needs, developing solutions, and assisting in solution development in the areas of iOG operations.
1. As part of developing the solution for the customers, the candidate shall develop models on different applications related to Supply Chain Management, Process Simulation, Application Integration, MES landscape, Energy Management, and Asset
Management.
2. In-depth understanding of process technology, reaction chemistry, process dynamics, process control, and strong application knowledge to develop, support, and train customers.
3. Capability to read, understand, and write custom scripts for process engineering applications and automation purposes using Python, VBA, Apple Script, Power Shell, MILANO, Aspen Custom modeler, FORTRAN, etc.
4. Read P&IDs, PFDs, and/ or process descriptions to conceptualize process models as well as a strategy for process control.
5. Read and understand cause and effect diagrams and/or logic and control narratives to conceptualize and implement as well as test the emulation of logic.
6. Generate required project documentation.
7. Assist lead engineer in the generation, integration as well and testing of deliverables for projects or proposals.
8. Assist lead engineer during acceptance testing of deliverables9. Report progress, status, and issues to the supervisor on a weekly basis
9. Demonstrate technology offerings as well as project deliverables to customers and third parties for acceptance or during pre-sales phases of projects
10. Carry out any other activity related to project or proposal engineering per instructions from the supervisor
11. Participate in any organisational initiative/ project in a role as specified by the supervisor or management.
12. Ability to work with adequate proficiency with MS Office applications including MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and Visio.
13. Very conducive travel and living policy to provide comfortable travel and living while at the site
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field.• Strong understanding of chemical processes, reactions, and equipment.• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.• Ability to work collaboratively in a team and independently.• Willingness to travel occasionally for customer visits and conferences.
